Hello Ladies!
Does anyone remember their homecoming game? Or how this worked for your kids? Does the King/Queen - Duke/Duchess of the Home School get announced at half-time or is it the visiting school that gets announced? I really don't remember how this worked.

Only the HOME team is having homecoming.
Homecoming is actually meant for the alumni, but i don't remember any alumni ever coming to our dances.
I doubt the visiting school would get announced. I'm sure their homecoming is at a time when they have a home game. I'm pretty sure ours were announced at half time. The only thing I really remember is them driving around the track in a convertible!
They always announced ours at the school pep ralley during school hours the game day a week before homecoming, announced who was queen, etc. & whoever was on the court would wear a sash all day then on the day of the homecoming game (the next week after being announced), they had a big ceremony about it, 'officially' crowned the queen (no kings or male royalty) at the pep ralley during school & then again announced/introduced 'our royalty' at the game, the Jr High School queen usually getting crowned by, I think it was, the football captain who escorted her in the ceremony & also at the game announcment but in the High School court, the queen was escorted by & crowned by the football captain at the pep ralley (if I remember correctly) but at the game, she was escorted by & crowned by her parents...I do remember that at the game. For us, there was never any opponents' homecoming at our home games, just ours. Don't know about other schools. Sorry I couldn't be much help!
I remember the Homecoming King and Queen being announced at the Dance when I was in school; if they were ever announced at the game, I guess I didn't pay attention! I went to a PTA meeting the other night where they discussed homecoming traditions at my daughter's HS (she's a Freshman), and they said the Homecoming King and Queen would be announced at halftime at the game. So I would expect it at the game if I were you.
Yes, It was announced at the game.. Of course there is only the "Home" Team having the homecoming at the game..
But we have attended the games, where the other team was celebrating their Homecoming and we heard the other schools "Royalty" announced. We of course all also Cheered for them.
My daughter's school does it at half time during the game.
My school (in the 80's) announced the King and Queen at the dance, they introduced the whole court at halftime the night before.
Homecoming is at your home field, therefore the opposition should not have ANY time during the game for ceremonies.
Some schools do the announcing before, right as the game is about to start, or during halftime...but to be honest if any of the players are escorting the ladies who really wants to smell (or stand close to/next to) a sweaty football player in a dirty uniform.
My hometown always had homecoming the weekend of our town fair, which is actually this weekend, after several away games in a row. At half time the "court" was announced and they would make their appearance and everyone (the team, the cheer leaders, drill team, band, the court) would all go to the fair and do... something.... official-ish. Then the homecoming dance was later that night where the court announced and crowned the vote-appointed the King and Queen.
