I live in Covina and have home-school in the past and am considering doing it again. My recommendation would be to network with other families who homeschool because you will benefit so much from ongoing support and collaboration. Another recommendation is to check out public charter schools who have home education programs. They provide you with funding and an educational specialist who keeps your records, meets with you regularly, and provides support. I personally found that to be much preferred to being left all to myself.

Hi my name is C.. I am 27 and a mother of one 8 year old. I was homeschooled 7-11 grade and I thought it was the best thing. Just let them take some electives at a school or on a team. So that they stay connected with friends. I think it is a great idea.

I think there are A LOT of great schools in California, however, I am sure there are many not up to par. Have you considered requesting a transfer to another school within your neighborhood district? Our district allows you to transfer to pretty much whatever elementary school you want. It gets a little more strict once you move on from there. I have been 100% satisfied with our public schools in my area.

I also do think Azusa schools aren't good, so I send my kids to Walnut. You should try it over there!
