We are getting ready to put our house on the Market, but we need a Truth-in-Housing inspection. Anyone worked with a low-cost, reputable company they'd like to recommend? I've looked in reviews and didn't see anything...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone, it looks like I have to go through the city of Minneapolis and have a listed evaluator take a look. I do appreciate the help though. It gave me a place to start (ie, checking with the city). Thanks for your responses!!

We had this company do ours. My sister also had him. He is really honest and friendly. Not sure if he is in your budget.

Have you contacted the city? If you need a Truth-in-Housing inspection the city should provide an inspector because its required by them. If you are just looking for a general inspector my husband is one you can give him a call at ###-###-#### he has his own company called 651-HANDYMAN. He does inspections on the side. Your real estate agent should be able to direct you on what you should do for the inspection if you are using an agent. If you have question let me know Im a real estate agent and ifI cant answer your question I might know someone who can.

The city requires the truth in housing and some cities have specific inspectors that they use..and those people are required for certain areas. You should contact the city or your real estate agent should be able to assist you in finding someone for your area. I am an agent myself so if you have any further questions I would be happy to help.

Hi K.
It depends on what city you live in. Not all inspectors are on the list of approved inspectors for every city. If you are working with a realtor, I would ask for their suggestion. If you do not have a realtor yet, please feel free to give me a call and I can suggest some that I have used. I can also answer any other questions you may have about getting ready to sell your home.

My Dad is a Home Inspector. I'm not sure of his prices or anything, but it may be worth a call. He's very detailed and honest. Rich Coan ###-###-####.
