Hello everyone i buy the sassy diaper sacks scented to relieve the smell from my sons poopy diapers but they raised the price and they lowered the quantity (figures). But i was wondering if anyone makes they're own smell free bags and what do you use. Any suggestions will help thank you so much for your time.

What can I do next?

I don't make my own, but at Babies R Us you can get some that are fairly reasonable...they come in a box of 250 for like $5.00. Also if you have a dollar store near you some of them sell boxes of 50 count for , you guessed it..$1. :)

Similar to Marla, we keep a lined trash can in the garage right by the house door, and we toss the poopy diapers in there rather than in the indoor trash cans. Then we empty it on trash day.

Also, looks like your baby is close to 18 months... around this age i started shaking the poop out of the diaper into the toilet before wrapping the diaper up. Much less "stuff" to make a stink. On some really messy diapers I do skip this step, but in general results in much less smelly trash cans!

I don't know if they are completely stink free, but I use the plastic grocery bags. We have 3 in diapers right now, and so we are constantly changing dirty pants, and have not had any issues with a stinky house with using these. These are the "cheapest" alternative for us right now. Hope this helps.

I used the bags they make for dog poop. They are thin but really seem to hold the odor in well when tied. You can get them at any pet supply store.

Dollar Tree has scented diaper sacks- I believe it is a box of 30 bags [could be 50- I haven't used them for a while] for $1. Even if there are only 30, it is still cheaper per sack compared to all of the others

****I happened to make a trip to the Dollar Tree today, and in fact, there are 75 scented diaper sacks per box. Great deal compared to the other ones and just as good****

Have you considered switching to cloth diapers? We have no odor problem at all with the cloth. When we've used a disposable diaper here or there, the smell is TERRIBLE!

Cloth diapers today are NOT what they used to be! You will save over $2000 in the long run (depending on the age of your son when you switch).

Hi! We used ziploc bags. It seemed to trap in the odor. Good luck on your search.

We save all the bags our daily or sunday newspaper comes in and use them for diapers. My daughters inhome daycare did it and I've started doing it as well. Works for us.

Here is a trick my husband and I use...
We put a small garbage can outside our front door (behind a bush). After changing our daughter, we open the front door and throw the diaper into the trash can.

No need to pay any extra money for diaper sacks and less trash in the landfill.
