We are trying to refinance our home and need a home appraiser in the Coppell area. The mortgage guy quoted a price of $350, but was wondering if any of you had any recommendations. We have a 1983, 1920 sq. ft, single story, slab home.

I found an appraiser in Coppell that will appraise my house for $300. That's $50 I can use for diapers!!! :)

We refinanced our home last year and had to use the appraiser they chose. We switched finance companies in the middle due to finding cheaper rates and already had one appraisal done, but we had to use the second company's appraisal person and had to pay for another appraisal. They cost about $325 if I remember correctly. I liked the first guy that came out, his name is Jonathan Mayers and his website is bluestarappraisals.com.
I just paid $425 for an appraisal so you are getting referrals for less and that's good.
Jodi - Are you sure you don't mean Home Aprraisal? You don't normally need an inspection done for a refinance.
An appraisal normally runs $350 (or more) - and an inspection can start around $250. There are so many Insoectors out there these days they have been getting really competitive - however, you have add ons, such as pool, sprinkler system, etc...
