Holiday Snack for Toddlers to Make

I found some cute recipes on kraftrecipes.com. Type in keywords, snowman, santa, reindeer, etc...

there is a cute marshmallow snowman on a stick, snowman & rudolph on ritz etc...

What you can do is buy skewers for shish-k'bobs and use those or at Michaels or Joanne's they sell sticks for suckers and other candy items. Using a melon baller, you can make large and small balls of fruit to make snow men on the sticks. you can also use various sizes of marshmallows and then a toothpick for frosting eyes. Your 4 yr old should be able to do this on her own after you show her. I have been looking for medium sized marshmallows myself but no luck so far. I will probably cut the larger ones to get the middle "snowball" for the snowman and then a mini marshmallows for the head. Another idea is making rice kripies treats and shaping those into trees and such or lay them thin and use cookie cutters then decorate. When I was little we used Cheerios and green food coloring for trees. You can then either use frosting or mini M & Ms for ornaments. My kids love this one.

I just had a blast making reindeer toast with my daughter.
A slice of toast cut into 2 triangles
spread peanut butter on it
add raisins for eyeballs
a cherry cut in 1/2 for the nose
and stick pretzels for the antlers

She is 3 and loved this and best of all- she ate it too! Hope you have fun! Blessings to you and yours!

*** we also just made homemade butter- SOOOO simple! Heavy whipping cream and a jar and some shake shake shaking and a tiny bit of salt and sooooo yummy!

Try making snowmen out of marshmallows. Take a skewer or toothpick and put 3 large marshmallows on it. Decorate as you like. My kids LOVE this! Have fun!

Try making macaroons like Xmas trees. This is not particularly healthy but..... when you are mixing everything up together put a couple dots of green food coloring in and shape like trees (little pyramids). When hot out of the oven you can dust with powdered sugar and it looks like snow.

we just made 2 big batches of trail mix to give. one salty one sweet. the kids can dump it in and mix it up.

If you don't mind sweets, chocolate dipped pretzel sticks are really fun and easy. Just melt some chocolate and let it cool a little ( keep it liquid, you can always reheat it a little) and let the little ones dip large sized pretzel sticks into it. Set out some dishes with nuts or colored sprinkles or crushed peppermint in them and then roll the chocolate pretzel in those. My son's preschool used to make these and the kids would be so proud of the candy they made and we still do these!
