My daughter has only been in daycare for 2 months, so I don't know her provider well enough to buy a thoughtful gift. Should I just give her cash, like a Christmas bonus? I don't know what is appropriate or how much I should spend/give. Please help!

What can I do next?

I wouldn't give something for the classroom but something that maybe the teacher has mentioned that she enjoys. My daycare provider belongs to a book club so I'm getting her a gift certificate to a bookstore.
If you're crafty or like to bake maybe a small trinket from your daughter or some baked goods show thoughtfulness.
I used to be a teacher and gift cert. were always great-even to a gas station if you know what to get. We al drive and "free" gas would be nice. I'ld give soemthing that I would like to receive.
As far as the amount you spend it really depends on what you can afford. And it's really not the amount that counts but the thoughtfullness that goes into it the gift. I'ld also write a note in the card expressing your thankfulness for what they do. Being a teacher(especially a day care provider) can be very stressful and a lot of times parents take us for granted, so make sure you let the teacher know you appreciate them.

I'm the type of person who just doesnt give a cash gift. I know teachers and daycare providers who really enjoy gift cards. Either for themselves, or for a store like the book stores to buy a book for the class. I usually do $25 most of the time.

I would purchase some childrens books, movies, something your daughter enjoys at home to share with others at the daycare. I would not spend to much as it has only been two months as then you are setting a presedent for next years.

Hi L., my 2 yr. old daughter has been in daycare since she was 3 mo. old. Every year at Christmas, we usually get her teachers something small, i.e. an ornament, and the director some chocolates or something similar. It's the thought that counts, Merry Christmas!
