Hiking Group?

Spring has sprung and I'm itching to get out and get some exercise! Does anyone know of a mothers hiking group in the area? I'd like to have a set time/day to hike with others. Weekly, bi-weekly? Or does anyone have suggestions of good places to go? I have a dog I would like to (but don't have to) bring along.

What can I do next?

I certainly would be interested! Are you planning with or without kids? i previously did the bjorn and the backpack when they got bigger, no prob but now I have 2 kiddos 2 and 4 and can't hike with both of them by myself. I could figure something out on days I don't have them. (Tuesday mornings they are both in pre-school). I know Boulder has a hiking/running mom's group but I am not sure what the name of it is. Another option is a stroller hike/walk....more level ground with jogger strollers. Let me know what the general consensus is. I'd love to get out again! K.

There's a group I've heard of called Colorado Mountain Mamas -- I'm not a member but I'm thinking of joining. In any case they have hikes / stroller walks and mountain biking for moms with kids of various ages (including babies) -- check them out here:

Hope this helps!

Try Washington Park. There is an area for the young children and you could meet other Moms. Walk around the very outside of park and you will get in two miles. S.

Try meetup.com. Enter "hiking" into the search box and you'll get a list of local groups.

Check out yahoo groups and particularly MoxieMoms.
There's great hiking in the Boulder foothills.
You could also start one of your own. Visit Parenting Place to meet other moms and to advertise on their board.
Childish Things is another place to check out for info.
