Have any of your babies ran high fevers with teething? My son has been running a high fever off and on for the last 2 days. The highest being 104.4. And yes he has seen a dr, but they think it may be teething since he has no other symptoms except diarreha.

What can I do next?

Very common. One of the doctors at my son's office was telling me a story about a baby at the hospital with 106 fever for days. He said that they did every test possible on him. Then a bunch of teeth came in, and the fever went away.

My younger son has been getting 101 fevers right before teeth come in.

The problem is it could be a virus. Usually fevers tend to be lower with teething. Diarrhea and a fever are signs of a virus and there's plenty of stuff going around right now. Has he ran a fever before with teething? If not I would go with virus.

Hi M.,
Yes! Both my boys ran extremely high fevers whenever they were teething. Even though doctors and other moms gasped and said "teeth don't cause fevers!" But without fail, every time they cut a tooth, they ran high fevers.

Hang in there!!

don't worry unless it gets really high and Tylenol is not working to get the fever down.

Don't be stunned if he breaks out in a rash in the next day or two. A high fever can often be related to Roseola.

I would say virus of some sort, not teething.

My daughter ran a fever between 101 and 105 on and off for 10 days and then all of a sudden 2 teeth popped in! The dr told us not to worry unless the fever stayed at a consistant temp at all times without going up and down. She showed no other symptoms of being sick so it was definately the teeth!

With my son he would get the snotty nose and diarrhea as well as act irritable with a mild fever right before his teeth would cut. Ever child is different though!

As long as he is his normal happy self besides a little bit of crankiness I would not worry too much.

Good luck and many blessings to you and yours!
