I had that my last month too. Get a prescription from your dr. That is the only thing that helped me
Does anyone know the best and safest treatment for hemmroids during pregnancy? I have 4 weeks left of my pregnancy and have encountered hemmroids for the first time. Help!

It depends if they are internal or external.. internal I think you are out of luck for the time being.
For external - the active ingredient in Tucks pads is Witch Hazel - which you can buy at ANY pharmacy. It's usually in the aisle with peroxide and rubbing alcohol. The store brand should set you back roughly $2.
Soak a cotton ball in the witch hazel and gently wipe the hemmoroids. If they are very painful, you may find it less irritating to squeeze the witch hazel over them instead of wiping them with the cotton ball. it also may help to apply the witch hazel as a compress and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes (soak the cotton ball then leave it there for a few minutes)
Hemmoroids are usually the result of straining - I got them while in labor. If you are having problems passing stool (if your stool is hard or otherwise difficult to pass) consider increasing your fiber intake - it will soften stools which will be easier to pass and less abrasive on your existing 'roids. Pears, peaches, Bananas, Cheerios, Grape Nuts Cereal, Oatmeal are all high in fiber.
Had the same problem with both pregnancies. My solutions were- Sitz baths, cream ointment and rest (I know difficult with a little one).
Good luck.
Okay, I agree with cotton pads and witch hazel. I diluted mine with some filtered water to make it the about the same concentration as the tucks pads. Use some wet wipes to clean yourself every time you use the washroom. I made sure to wipe with a cotton pad with witch hazel after every use of the bathroom and used some moisturizing cream on my butt to prevent bursting and added comfort.
You can try using witch hazel extract. I know you can get it at Whole Foods. It works just as well as over the counter treatments. Congrats on your upcoming birth!
This may sound gross, but it worked for me. Stop washing your butt with soap. Just use water. The soap can irriatate the hemmroids. Also some Tucks pads helped.
Hi J B,
Definately get a prescription from your doctor. If it's itching that is botehering you and, I used Burt's Bees diaper creme. Also, my docotr gave me GREAT cleasing lotion and Acetate Gel w/ aloe cooling gel in it! WONDERFUL! She told me to increase fiber to loosen my stool and drink TONS of water. Yes, you'll be in the bathroom ALL THE TIME, but it's better then pain.
So sorry you have to go through this!
Good Luck!
