Hi J.,
I'm sorry this happened!! The only thing I can think of to use is baking soda to get rid of the odor. It might take a few tries, but it's worth a shot. I hope I was of some help to you. Let me know how it turns out. S.

Agreed on the Nature's Miracle stuff. There are a few variations of it by other companies, but they all work the same way - enzymes that break down or lock the urine. BTW, pet urine (especially cat) is much more concentrated than human urine, so these pet products are REALLY effective.

BTW: if the smell of the urine seems funny or more powerful than your own, consider getting him checked for a UTI. Our six year old daughter had one for months and we discounted UTI because she had no pain, but after a LOT of accidents, her teacher recommended that check and the doctor confirmed it.

I would first try a pet store because they have products specifically designed to get urine odor out.If that doesn't work, I'd have it professionally cleaned. I think Sears has a service that uses non-toxic cleaners.

A product called Nature's Miracle works great. It's actually for pet accidents (you can get it an any pet store) but it works well for your purposes also. I've never had it adversely affect the fabric I use it on, but still, you might want to test in an unobtrusive place.

Petco carries a product called Nature's Miracle that we like with our cats. It seems to get rid of their odor and does well on the stains, although I haven't needed (*knock-on-wood*) to use it on any accidents from our kids yet.
