Hi! I am looking for a GREAT cake place to order a baby shower cake for my best friend's sister. She lives in NY (my best friend) and she is in charge of the cake so I told her I would help her out since she is not here. The baby shower is April 4th. I need to find a REALLY cute cake, one that also tastes good. They had my baby shower cake made at Creme de la Creme which was beautiful and tasted amazing, but they are wanting over $200 for a cake that feeds 30 people!!!!! Given, the details and design work are about half of the cost, the base cake is still $124, which blows my mind!!
So I am needing some input please! I live in Arlington, but am willing to travel within 30 miles, so if you know of anything, PLEASE help me!!!

We love the cakes from Cooper Street Bakery in Arlington. They're located on - you guessed it - Cooper Street; north of The Parks mall.
Try Paris Bakery across from Arlington High School on Park Row. We've always had great cakes from them at reasonable cost.

L. - Creative Memories has yummy cakes but I am always amazed by their rude customer service. If you get lucky and deal with an owner it's great but most of the high school aged/college kids are horrible. The bad customer service outshines the yummy cakes.

Probably the best white cake I've ever tasted is from a bakery in Arlington - Kathy's Icing on the Cake. I was at a shower for a friend's overseas adoption. The cake was not just beautiful but amazingly moist and delicious. The hostess was prepared with a stack of business cards and gave them all away!

Harper's Bluebonnet Bakery on Camp Bowie near the Museum District is my favorite bakery for custom cakes. Lots of ideas to choose from or they are great at creating a custom design if you want something different. Reasonable prices.

Texas Star Bakery in Hurst - www.texasstarbakery.com They did the cake for my daughter's baby shower a few years ago and it was absolutely perfect for the occasion. It looked like two packages wrapped in the colors from the napkin with icing ribbons with polka dots and it tasted out of this world - I can't tell you how many compliments that cake received. I looked at their website before answering this and they have several really similar posted on there so I'm sure you can find just what you want. I don't know what it would cost today but doubt it would be $200.00!
