Help with Crazy, Out of Control Hair!

I have naturally curly, thick hair. Because I cannot ever count on it drying cute and curly, I often dry it straight. I am looking for good products to use for the curl when I let it dry naturally, and for taming it and smoothing it when I go straight. Does anyone have hair like mine and good products to suggest?

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

OMG...Yes, you are not alone in this one. I found some products on the market. Matrix has a product called Sleek.look and it works great for when you want to wear your hair straight, they also have a similar product same line but for curly hair. I mix this with some bio-silk just a few drops of that but it works great the bio-silk gives it that shine most people get after they blow-dry their hair. If you want a more wet look when you wear it curly you can get Vavoom hair gel to put in it but be fair warn the gel after it dries and you get out in the wind will also as well look fuzzy but as long as you are in a not so windy area it works great. Now these are not cheap products. Now, Sally's has a line of products as well, it’s the generic brand of these products but be warned their form of the bio-silk I personal don't like.

Good Luck,

T.

I have to say you are lucky to be able to straighten your hair! My hair has never been able to straighten...ever! I have very curly hair and the only thing that helped was Finesse Mouse, but they stopped making that. (Why, oh why??!!?) But I did find this product that is called Catwalk, curl amplifier. Not that I need my curls amplified, but it does control them. Its a cream, and just a little dab works then I use Citre Shine that you can buy at Walmart to gelp give it a nice shine. Catwalk is only sold at salons and is abou $12 a bottle but it lasts me about a month.

My daughter has the same hair. We have used many many products throughout the years and the best we have found is the Redken line Smooth Down. It has lots of moisture in it. I used the shampoo and leave in conditioner (comb through with a wide tooth comb while she finishes her bath, then rinse). Then we use the Redken Fresh Curls leave in curl definer or something like that. Those two lines, esp the Smooth Down, are the best I've found. We also use the Burt's Bee leave in conditioner if the tangles are really really bad! Good luck.

That describes my hair, except I don't have the patience to dry it straight. It always drys to a natural curl. NOW its a curl not a frizz. Curl Goddess is a line of "mark" products sold by Avon. I only use the curl mist. I like the serum too. We also have products for straightening, but honestly, I haven't tried them. Please look at my e-store http://www.youravon.com/pescobedo . All my profits from Avon go to the Breast Cancer 3 Day. Ask me why I will walk 60 miles in 3 days. Would you?
