My 3 month old still has cradle cap and it's driving me crazy! My pediatrician said not to use anything for it...just use a comb when I bathe her and try to remove the flakes. It doesn't seem to be getting any better and it's driving me nuts. Any suggestions???

Thanks everyone, for your responses. I used the olive oil once before her bath and then shampooed it out and brushed it. It seems to be working. At least, it's not as noticeable. Thanks for all the advice! I appreciate it!

You might want to try baby oil, warm water and a washcloth. Believe it or not, a little gentle washcloth scrub of the head might just do the trick. Watch out for the baby developing a face and upper back rash, though because some babies have an allergic reaction to the skin flakes that come off their heads onto their cribs. Hope this helps! dr. Hi! One of my kids had cradle cap for a short time. My mom always told me to use a little bit of coconut oil, massaging it into the scalp. If you don't have that, I've actually used olive oil. Olive oil is great for the diet and great for the scalp. Get a small amount on your finger tips and massage away. I hope this helps.

There are always 1000 different suggestions for just about everything out there!!! One I thought was good for cradle cap was simply putting Olive Oil in her hair. Let it soak for a while and then wash it using your soft brush. I liked it. All natural, a little Olive Oil never hurt :)

I had this problem with my son when he was a baby, and found that good old fashioned baby oil worked best. You need to apply liberally to the scalp and leave it on for about good 5-10 minutes. You can use the comb to loosen the flakes, but I found that lightly scratching with my fingernails in a circular motion removed more, and was less irratating to the baby-almost like a scalp massage. It will take several applications of shampoo to remove all the baby oil. I also used this for my grandson with great results. Hope this helps!

Hi K.,

The best product for cradle cap is hands down Arbonne ABC body wash and lotion/oil. It treats the problem, but does not cure it. You want to stay away from products that have mineral oil/petrolatum. Mineral oil acts as an occlusive barrier and cannot penetrate the skin in order to give your child the hydration it needs. My girlfriends little five month old daughter has so many allergies, food, lotions and washes. She tried everything on her daughter and Arbonne was the only product that helped with her daughters discomforts. The ABC line is hypoallergenic and does what it says its going to do. I hope this helps with your search for the best product for your child. Contact me if you would like to hear more? I am a mother of two kids myself and can relate to your situation. Good Luck! ;o)

Oh my gosh, my son had the worst cradle cap. It looked like a scab on his head and by the time it was over he had complete male pattern balding. Thank goodness my 2 girls did not have the same issues.
I got similar advise from our pediatrician but she also suggested using some olive oil prior to the bath. Rub the olive oil on and let it sit on the spot then while your baby is in the bath use the comb to remove the scaling. Our doc also suggested dandruff shampoo - let it sit before rinsing - I think it was called Sebulum.
My belief, however, is that the advice I received from other moms worked best because I continued this product with my girls and they never got cradle cap. They suggested Mustela Newborn Foam Shampoo - which is just awesome. I am not a big fan of all Mustela products but this one I can not recommend enough. Another mom suggest Gentle Naturals but I think this was more for eczema. Good Luck!

I agree with the baby oil. Altho her pedi said just to put it on before bed, comb it some, then comb again and wash it in the morning. There was also two babies in my daycare that would leave it on all day. The next day it was 99% gone. Mine had it awful until 5 1/2 months. She'd have like an episode every other week. But this would almost clear it after one application. One girl had it and she was going on 1! Its the build up of excess scalp oil and dry skin. Using baby or olive oil will just loosen it up.

My doctor's (My kids go to a medical group) gave me two suggestions and both worked.

The first was to use a plain old bar of ivory soap and rub it in with and adult wash cloth. Do not use the liquid and it had to be ivory soap. This took it away immediately. When it came back I just kept doing it.

The second was to use Selsum shampoo. That worked too.

Remember that both will hurt the eyes so you have to be very careful.

My son is 4 months old so I know what you are going through.

By the way did you know that it could be caused by a milk allergy? That is what caused my sons.

Good luck to you!!

Hey K.: I don't know how old you are or if this is your first baby but chill out. It's not unusual for a baby to have cradle cap. Even tho your pediatrician said don't use anything but a comb, if you're that anxious about it try a little baby oil on her head before you bath her and just rub it gently on the area.
If it's any consolation, it will go away eventually.

Hi K.,

when my baby had cradle cap at about that age I just applied some olive oil (or baby oil, if you prefer) about 20 mintues prior to bathing him. The oil loosened up the cradle cap and then I would gently comb some of the flakes off. The rest of the oil gets removed during bathing. It took about a week or so to clear up. Hope this helps and good luck.

My first child had cradle cap. I slathered on the baby oil the day I was going to take her a bath. I left the baby oil (around 3 hrs) on and kept massaging her head. Then, before I washed the oil off, I gently combed the cradle cap. Some of her hair came out, but it helped with the cradle cap. Then, I washed it out. Now, I had to do this for a few weeks before all the cradle cap disappeared. She now has a full head of hair, no cradle cap. Hope that helps.

My daughter had a terrible case of it for the first couple months and then our babysitter introduced us to a pure lanolin form of nipple cream called Lansinoh (I know it sounds weird). Anyway, we applied the lanolin nipple cream to every little area of her head and although she looked like a little grease monkey, in ONE day, all of it was gone. Now when she gets a little rash or even some eczema, I apply some of the nipple cream and it works its miracle.

The cream is sold at Smiths and Raleighs in a little purple tube.

Hi, my son had cradle cap until he was 5 years old!!! When he wasnt a baby he still had it but I found great ways to maintain it. One, only use good quality sensitive, no frangrence shampoo. (aveno was nice) When I would see a build up I would put some sort of oil on his head and message it good on his scalp. (aveda message oil or plain baby oil) Then I would wait 5 min. and put him in the bath. Let it set a little longer and use the comb to remove it. It would just come right off! Go against the hair. I only had to do this every couple of weeks. Goodluck C.

My baby had cradle cap and I received the same advice from my pediatrician... But from the ladies in my breastfeeding group, I got some suggestions that actually worked:
1. Use some baby oil and a comb to really work the flakes off about a half hour to an hour before bath time. If it's really bad, add a tiny drop of tea tree oil to the mix.
2. Use a bit of breastmilk (which also, when dropped in the eye, cured a gooey clogged tear duct) on her head with the comb before bed.
I used the oil technique (without the tea tree) and cured my son's cradle cap in two applications. It has not returned after several months.
Good Luck

my son is 8yrs old and still gets it sometimes. Get some baby oil or baby oil gel and rub it into his scalp and then use a fine comb to pull it out. You can use lotion but i think baby oil works best. I know it is hard because it gets everywhere. and looks gross sometimes. But it does go away and at that age alot of babies get it.

My pediatrician told me to put Boiron's Homeopathic Calendula Ointment on his scalp. It made his hair look greasy, but it worked great and is very natural. My son is four months old and he's still flaking a little. I stopped using it and just brush his hair every day to stimulate the skin/follicles. My bigger worry is that he's losing all his hair and has been left with hair on top and a little mullet in back. ;)

Hi K.,
First, don't worry about it. It will disappear in time. My daughter had it really badly when she was a baby, and that was about 20 years ago, and believe me I was so embarased by it because people thought that I didn't take care of her.

You have to be patient, I believe it's just clogged pores. They have a product called
Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Care and it is all natural. Also you can try a little olive oil, leave it on for a few minutes and then rub off gently with a wash cloth. This should loosen the dired skin on the scalp and help remove it.
There are some doctors who recommend cortisone type creams, but I would just try the shampoo and the olive oil first. The cradle cap won't harm your baby, and therefor you don't want to use something to get rid of it that may be harmful.

Good luck and remember be patient.

But what I did was put some olive oil (the Baby 411 book recommended it and gave other oils you could use) on her head and massage softly with a very soft toothbrush. Hi K. G,

When my daughter was a baby she also had cradle cap which, developed from putting baby oil in her hair. After you wash your babies hair do not put any kind of oils in the hair just leave it dry because babies create their own oils. As my daughter got older the cradle cap did get worse. Take your baby to the doctor there is a cream the Dermatologist can prescribe. I also washed my daughter's hair with Neutrogena medicated shampoo. Check with your Dermatologist first, my daughter was much older than 3 months.

Hi K.,
It's been a while since I've dealt with cradle cap, my "baby" is now 11 years old and oldest is 18, lol. Anyway, I remember rubbing a little bit of baby oil (not too much, baby already has enough natural oils which I believe is the cause of cradle cap to begin with). Rub a little baby oil to loosen then when you shampoo head you can either gently scrape off with fingernails in side to side motion or gently rub off with baby washcloth. That cleared the problem in one to two days.
Hope it works! Just remember to be gentle especially around baby's soft spot.

My doctor said it was normal and that i could put baby oil on her head before her bath and then wash it with a wash cloth. It doesn't completely come out the first time, her hair (if she has any) might look a little greasy but not bad. The next bath you give her it will wash all away and if you keep up with it the cradle cap will get better. Have you tried putting oil on her head first? I found that putting an oil on my kids head, like burts bees apricot oil, but I am sure baby oil would work too. Then let it sit for maybe 10 or 15 minutes then use the comb to (Iknow this sounds bad) scrape the cradle cap off her head. As long as you keep the comb flat and don't dig it into her head it doesn't hurt them and I have found that if I get all or most of it off I only had to do it once or twice at the most and it did not come back. After the comb then give her a bath to wash the oil out. Good Luck-J.

Hi K.,
You need to be really careful of what you put on your baby. 95% of products made here in the US have really cheap fillers in them. Such as, Mineral oil, animal byproduct, fragrance and dyes. All of which are so bad for the sensitive skin of a baby.
I am a consultant with Arbonne and highly recommend that you try their baby line. The bonus with them is that you get a 45 day money back garuntee. I have a 11 month old son, and he has never had a diaper rash, baby acne, or any other skin issues. His head started to get dry and I am sure was on it's way to cradle cap, but I used the Arbonne oil and lotion, and it went away the next day.
I would love to get you a sample today if you would like. I fully believe in Arbonne and know first hand how awesome it is.
I am just a wholesale buyer and would love to get it for you.
Just give me a call.

There is this one kind of baby brush that has soft but firm plastic bristles. I think i have seen them at target. (It is the type of brush the surgens use to scrub before a surgery. i hope that helps)
What i did was i put baby oil on his head for about an hour then took and gave him a bath. But before i washed his hair i took that brush and lightly scrubed his head. It came right off. All of it. My friends son had it so bad that it was turning brown on his head. I gave her the brush and told her to do the same and his came right off too.

It's true that you don't need to use any medicated shampoos on cradle cap, but combing it away will happen much more easily with a couple of drops of baby oil, olive oil, even plain old canola oil rubbed over the scalp. Leave the oil on for a few minutes before combing. It softens the cradle cap 'crust' and you end up with an almost entirely clean scalp after gently combing. It's a pain in the neck pulling all the grungy bits out of baby's fine hair, but do it in short sessions on a day when you don't have to show baby off for a a few hours. Have a comb, have a play, little more combing, have a feed, bit more combing, fall asleep... you get the idea. At the end of it all, have a nice soothing bath and shampoo (or even rinse with plain water) the oil out of baby's hair.

Cradle cap was always my favorite baby 'problem' because it was so easy to solve. Made me feel like I was doing something right for a change! :-) Good luck!

Hi K.,

First of all realize that cradle cap is your childs protective skin on her sensitive little head sloughing off now that she is out in the big world which is totally normal. But some kids have more than others. I would first of all not wash her hair everytime you give her a bath since this can dry out her scalp even more. You can also use the baby brush with the really soft bristles and just go over her head with gentle round strokes to loosen the dead skin and help it along. I have also put baby oil or conditioner on my baby's scalp to help moisten her skin and make it look not so scabby. I hope these things help. Don't worry that she has cradle cap, it is temporary just like baby acne and it will clear up and your baby is still a beautiful baby. Have fun!

This was very handy and worked very well with my son, who also suffers from eczema. Once it clears up, if he continues to have dry scalp, I would recommend maintaining it with Head & Shoulders. Good luck!

Hi K., I see you have had numerous reponces already, I also am an Arbonne consultant and have had many customers have great results with the baby oil and wash. I would personally choose one of the more natural choices you have been given vs using a head n shoulders or selson blue, becuase adult products tend to have more harsh chemicals in them and they are absorbed throught the skin and scalp to the bloodstream, but thats my personal opinion. Hope you find something to help your little one soon. If you have any questions fel free to email me back..

When my son was that age, I would pick it off when he was asleep on my chest! It works best when they're a little bit sweaty. Granted, I had to make sure he was REALLY asleep, but I got all of it off within a matter of days :) Thing is, it all came back about 6 months later. But now that my son has hair, it can't be seen like it could when he was younger. Now, I bought some Calendula oil (although I hear olive oil works too) and rubbed it on his head in the bath and used my fingernail again to scrape it off. I can't get all of it done at once (my son doesn't have the patience for that!), but after a few times, it mostly all comes off. Oh and make sure to wash their hair really well after doing the oil. It will even be a bit oily the next day. Good luck!

This was the BEST. 1 treatment and my son's cradle cap was gone! I rubbed his head down with almond oil. Rub it in really well, to her dry hair, it will lift off the flakes, and you can help by using your finger nails to lightly lift and massage them away. I spent like 5 mins massaging it in. Then wash it out, may take 2 times to get the oil out. Then comb and just keep her head from sweating- I was keeping my in a hat a lot b/c I thought his head was cold- but it was too warm, and so he was sweating!

Hope that does the trick!!

I'm not sure how comfortable you would be doing it, but our pediatrician told us we could use head and shoulders every few days. Or he said to just put baby oil on it during his bath. We tried both and it cleared up in about a week and a half. Although the baby oil made his hair really greasy....he had a LOT of hair. But after it cleared up it was ok. :) I think ur doctor is saying not to do anything, because there really isn't any need for it unless the baby is miserable from the itching or something, it is just dry skin that should clear up on it's own. Also, try not washing baby with soap every single day. Their skin dries out really easily and they don't really need to be cleaned as much as we do. A simple soak in the tub is enough, with soap every other day or so. :) Hope this helps.

K.,

I asked this question to my hair stylist - who would know better about hair and the scalp right? He suggested a shampoo used for dandruff. I used Neutrogena 2 in 1 (shampoo/conditioner) for dandruff on my 3 month old who had quite a lot of hair and cradle cap and this seemed to resolve the issue. He did mention that 'baby shampoos' are not good for babies and the only thing that makes them baby shampoo is the 'no tears' ph balance for getting in their eyes - other than that they are useless. The first thing I did for cradle cap to get the flakes out was to soak her head in Eucerin cream (over the counter used for dry skin and psoriasis) the cream softens the skin and conditions it and then I used the comb gently to soften the dry flakes. I continue to use Neutrogena on her hair now and the cradle cap has disappeard.

Hello K. no worries I used olive oil and didn't need to use the anti-dandruff shampoo and it worked. I've included the directions below.

Good luck and God Bless!

Treatment:

Since cradle cap usually doesn’t bother the baby, try the oil treatment first. If it persists or worsens, then add the dandruff shampoo treatment.

Use baby oil or olive oil to soften the thick crusts. Rub it in with your finger, let the oil soak in for 15-30 minutes, then gently remove the crusts with a soft toothbrush. Wash the oil out immediately. This is very important, leaving the oil in too long can cause her whole face to break out in a rash.

Antidandruff shampoo. Use an over-the-counter brand, such as Neutrogena T-gel. Be careful to keep it out of her eyes. After lathering it into her hair, then massage the scalp with a washcloth. Use it once or twice a week for about two weeks.

I use to put baby oil on her head & place a beanie on her head every evening. After washing it out I would lay her on my lap & rub her scalp. I think that the stimulation to the scalped helped the flow of the oils in her scalp. It evenually began to become less dry & the cradle cap went away. It takes time though! Hello K..
the best solution ( and it works) is to use baby oil, dampled on a cotton ball and use this soon after you have given your baby a bath. you damp the cotton ball with enough oil & rub it on baby's head until the cradle ccap is fully soaked; wait about 5 minutes. If you have a baby's comb use it as if you're combing her hair for about 2 minutes, since her head is probably still soft; voila, you will see how this will lift all the flakes. Several sessions may need to follow.
Believe me, it even works on an adult's head, I do this procedure on my husband, since he tends to get winder dryness on his scalp.
Good luck!

I recently read several studies that there is a strong link to lotions containing peanut oil being used on a child's skin in the first two years is linked to allergies later.
With that, I think I would be careful putting anything food based on her skin (especially nut based) before she's two.
Both my kids had cradle cap. With my son I rubbed baby oil into it and then would scrub it out during bathtime and it went away but with my daughter I only used her baby shampoo and the little brush they give you at the hospital when they're born and then I'd comb it out. It worked equally as well. Just scrubbed it really well.

Hi there. You really should try some baby oil. That's the only thing that will take it away. And trying to brush away the flakes is not a good thing. Just put some oil on her head right before you bathe her. And do it every day until it clears. But make sure you don't leave the oil on her head, it needs to be washed off! I read in what to expect the first year that you should never leave the oil on their heads, just do a little bit to cover the area, as you know oil spreads easily, and wash it off when you give her a bath. And if you can avoid a car seat for a while, I noticed with my son that he was getting sweaty in the car seat and that would make it worse, and don't worry, once it's gone, it doesn't usually come back. Hope that helps! Take care.

It is in a light blue/aqua colored bottle with one of the Winnie the Pooh characters on it. They have a whole line of like exzema cream and some other stuff. I bought it and used it and its the only product I have seen for cradle cap and it works perfectly. Dont use baby oil or anything like that. Just get this stuff from Target and you will be all good.

My son is 15 months old and still has a little cradle cap. His pediatrician said it will probably never completly go away,it is a form of dandruf. She said to use a dandruf shampoo once a week, making sure not to get any in his eyes because it is not tear free, and to not be afraid to really scrub the top of his head using your nails to help loosen it. Then continue to use a comb when you are done. This helped get a lot off also just giving it time. As she gets older Im sure it will continue to improve. Good luck!

Hi Kristin,
My 3 month old has cradle cap too. I have been using a washcloth on the scalp during bath time and softly scrubbing the dead skin off. Then directly after while the skin is still soft and moist, I use an organic massage oil from "Avalon Organics" it has almond, olive, sunflower and borage oils in it. Then I use a weightless lotion on his head from the same company and it has chamomile, cocoa butter, flax and sunflower. My nanny got him a generic one from the supermarket and the third ingredient is alcohol, that will dry anyone's skin, so I told her I only want to use the organic products. You will be amazed on how beautiful your baby's head will look and feel.

Hi K.
I had the same problem with one of my kids. Here is what helped me out. Twice a week while bathing my baby i would wet his hair and masage a few drops of extra virgin olive oil on the affected areas. Let it on there for a few minutes. Then with one of those very soft baby brushes rub your baby's scalp gently before shampooing. My pediatrician said that cradle cap is a sign of dry skin and once i only washed his hair twice a week the cradle cap cleared up in a few weeks.

My son had cradle cap pretty bad and what we used was Almond oil. Make sure it is organic and food grade you put it on her head and leave it for a few minutes then with a soft brush and baby shampoo you scrub it off. Use circular motion with the brush and it will come right off. It took about three times to get it off of James head and he has not had it since. Good luck!

This may sound a little wierd, but we used Extra Virgin Olive Oil on our daughter's head! it worked! We just dabbed it on with a paper towel, let it sit awhile, and then combed out the flakes.
The best time to do this was while she was sleeping. I just held her (or had my husband hold her) while she slept and then combed away the flakes.

I know a lot of babies get cradle cap. My 4 year old girl still gets it and has since she was born. But, she has a peanut allergy and is lactose intolerant, as well. So, if the cradle cap doesn't clear up within a reasonable amount of time, it could be an allergy.

BTW, the olive oil and combing in a circular motion helped get rid of the cradle cap for a little while with our dd.

I wonder if you could be over washing your baby's hair? That could be the cause. You have received a lot of good advice for treatment but then you should look at prevention. I used to wash my first daughter's all the time with Johnson's which is actually pretty harsh. I remember dealing with cradle cap with her. My second baby, I haven't had to deal with it this time as I use an organic shampoo called MOP, modern organic products and I wash her hair every other day. Hope this helps in the future. Also, I just referenced my Dr Sears Baby Book and it says that too vigourous and too frequent hair washing will only dry out the scalp and make it worse. And he also says to use a mild shampoo.

Hi There...
I have a 3 month old with cradle cap too...this is my 3rd child. I have had the same advice from doctors...but with every child i have become more likely to follow a holistic approach or natural remedy...although I am not risky about it.

I have heard that cradle cap can be from a nutrient deficiency...I think Vit C and Omega 3...So I have increased my intake (I am breastfeeding)...though you can research further.

Here is a lotion that was recommended to me...with Borage oil and has been said to be used in the preemie ward at hospitals...the brand is Shikai...it is called: Borage Dry Skin Therapy...it says for 6 months and up...but I have used it. Another suggestion is to use Aloe....although most products with aloe vera have other junk in them that I wouldn't put on an infant...also most 'aloe' products do not actually have 'active aloe' because it takes a certain process to stabablize the healing properties in aloe. I use a product called Emprizone from Mannatech and that has healed the cradle cap in days....I have seen the quickest result from this. My baby had severe cradle cap and the borage lotion didn't seem to make much of an impact...but the Emprizone showed almost immediate results. There may be other products with a good delivery of the healing properties in Aloe..I just don't know more names of other products....I happen to have Emprizone already and tried it.

I would go to whole foods or erewon and talk to someone...

I wouldn't put just any lotion on a baby....there is a new study warning parents about certain ingredients in typical baby lotions...like Johnson and Johnson etc...

I wish you well...

Hi K., I am a grandma and also have a 15 yr. old with Autism who had scabs on top of his head. The Doctor gave him some type of cortizone to put on it and I tried it for a week. Not wanting to use it any longer , and happening to read in the Health section of the L A Times about a lady who used Milk of Magnesia and it cleared. Well, it couldn't hurt my son (he has to take enough meds.), and I put it on the spots on his head with a Q-tip. For the first time in years it is gone. I will use it from now on from time to time, to make sure it stays away.
When my adult kids were babies, I used salad oil on it, to keep it soft. It was easier to remove it, but then none had much hair at that time. Hope this helps. L.

My baby had cradle cap when he was about 3 months old as well. I didn't want to use anything harsh like Selsun Blue or Head & Shoulders and I would suggest that you try something more mild first. Every night during his bath I would make his hair damp and then put a little bit of baby oil in his hair and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I would take a baby comb and gently comb the scalp, which will start to lift the scales. Then I would wash the hair to get all the oil out. Gradually the scales will lift and the cradle cap will go away. It worked like a charm! I've read they can have problems with it for a few years but it hasn't come back for him. Please try that first before you try any harsher chemicals. If that doesn't work then try the stuff that is less gentle. Good luck!

I used Natures Way Cradle Cap remover. You can get it at target. It is really easy. Just put it on while in the tub before you wash your baby's hair. Let her play for a little while and and then wash really good. I use the comb too and that helps alot...but the remover helps soften it sooooooooo much and it just comes right off. It is worth a try. Can't hurt. Just make sure that you rinse and wash baby's hair a couple of times otherwise it is a little greasy. But if the cradle is really bad you might want to leave a little of the greasy residue for a day and comb often. Kinda will break up the cradle cap. Or what I like to call...Cradle Crap!!

My daughter used baby oil gel (the gel isn't as runny/messy as regular baby oil) and a simple baby comb. She gently combed the gel over the cradle cap using the fine-tooth side after every bath. The bath helped soften the cradle cap. Be patient and diligent. It may take many days or weeks to see improvement. But it sure was a beautiful sight to see that thick scaly stuff come off!

Hello K.. All three of my boys had cradle cap. My doctor told me that the more hair the baby has the worse the condition. My boys all had tons of hair. I used a little bit of olive oil on the scalp before bath time. Just put a small amount on and massage it into the scalp. Use the pads of your fingrs or a baby comb and lightly scrap the scalp to loosen the flakes. Withtin a few times of doing this it got much better. Eventually it will go away. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey, K.. I just googled about cradle cap and I found out that you can buy cradle cap treatment by Gentle Naturals at Target, Walmart, Walgreens. My baby had it too, but after a few months it went away. At the time I just used baby oil and combed out the flakes like you did. I hope that helps.

My baby had it too. His dr said to use Selson Blue. I used it and it worked great. Just remember that it isn't a baby shampoo so it will burn his eyes.

What worked for my son was to gently rub Johnson's baby oil on my son's scalp and remove the flakes with a comb. I did little sections at a time and the cradle cap eventually went away.

The remedy passed down in my family was to put baby oil on the baby's head, then apply a warm wash cloth to get it all soft, then comb out with a fine comb. It seemed to work well for us. As long as you're gentle it can't hurt.

There is a shampoo... I think Johnson & Johnson makes it, I remember it has winnie the Pooh on it and it is for Cradle cap. I used it on my son and it helped out. It left his hair a little oily though and I had to rinse it several times, but it helped.

Melaleuca oil. Its safe and natural. You can purchase it through www.melaleuca.com. Its about $16 for one oz., but it works! They also have a children's hair wash that contains melaleuca oil in it. I use alot of melaleuca products and I love them. I'm not trying to be a salesman, just sharing what works.
