My husband and I are currently living in a travel trailer on my parents property due to the bad economy. We have no room for a crib in our Trailer. My daughters playpin used to have the bassinet attatchment but she is over 15 lbs now so we can no longer use it. She is very used to sleeping with my husband and I in our bed. Is there anything I can do? i have already tried putting her to sleep in my arms with a bottle but as soon as i start leaning down to put her in her playpin she wakes up. Is there anything I can do so she stays asleep or she can put herself to sleep? I am going to go crazy if we cant get a better night of sleep!

What can I do next?

My daughter successfully sleeps in a play pen, but I had to pad it because it wasn't comfortable. I take three blankets and fold up over the pad, and then take a sheet designed for a playpen and tuck it around all of them to make it more cushy. This should be okay for your daughter, since she's older.

No advice on how to get her into it, other than to make sure she's asleep before you put her down. I know that's the opposite of what they tell you to do (put them down when they are awake? Ha!) but that's what works for me...I hold her after she's asleep for about ten minutes, and then transfer her over. Just take it slow and try to maintain as much body contact until she's down. Don't give in, and she will get used to it.

I would try to get a crib mattress or something that will fit just right in the playpen because those playpens aren't very comfortable, not the travel one I had. My daughter's crib/toddler bed mattress was I think 70 at wally world (walmart) 2 years ago so it's not horrible but then again I have no idea of your situation. Either way, I'd try to pad that sucker so it's not so hard.

I don't know if it would work, but there are things that you can attach to the bed that might work - co-sleepers. She can sleep in that and be next to you but not in the bed. Technically you won't have to put her down, just move her over into her bed.

Here's a website I found to show what they look like - http://www.armsreach.com/index.php?main_page=index&cP...

my son did the same but i tried the cry it out method, i dont know if you want to use that. sleep her in your arms then when shes asleep transfer her to her playpen if she wakes up she will cry, not very much because she will be sleepy. Thats what i did. Good luck.
