Jump in the shower and the warm water will help by releasing some of the excess breast milk- it's perfectly normal for this to happen!!!
Hi, I just had my son this past Friday. I woke up today to find my breast huge and firm. There hurt really bad even putting my arms down on the side make is hurt. Not to mention the smallest touch or rub, even hold by baby to bottle feed him pains me to do.
Does anyone know how to soothe, relief, Maybe help them go back down to normal quicker?
Any help would be appreciated! :-)
I want to thank you all for your great advice! Really helped.
And Congratulations to you Zelda Girl n your baby! :-)

You can also use a pump to empty the breasts. If you're planning to formula feed, make sure you don't empty the breasts completely. That will actually signal to your body to make more milk.
Nurse as much as possible. Sounds like your milk just came in with a vengence and you are engorged. My milk aways came in with a lot of inflammation and engorgement too, on days 3-4 after birth.
Congrats!!!!!!! You may have mastitis from a clogged milk duct. That is very painful. If it feels like it has a fever at all go to the dr right away. I would pump like crazy. Nurse when he is hungry but pump as well. I know I would nurse one side and pump the other. And next time switch. Or if you are too full pump both between feedings.
Nipple shield. TAke soy lecithin. Ice pack and nurse a lot.
Call your OB. It may be a plugged duct. If you start to feel like you have the flu, that's what it is, mastitis.
You're engorged. Pump out some the breast milk to soften them and then feed your baby once they're more comfortable.
If you're not going to breastfeed....sorry, it's going to suck for a few days. Take hot showers and tylenol.
Congrats! I had my baby this past week as well! It sounds like your milk has come in and you may be engorged. You said you use a bottle to feed him. Does that mean you're formula feeding? If so, you need to find a way to stop your milk. I don't know how to do that but I'm sure if you call your OB s/he would know. If you're willing/able, you could also try breastfeeding for your baby to help empty those breasts. If you would like to breast feed but don't really know how to start, search online for a local La Leche League and they can support you. Good luck!
Hello,
You've gotten great advice if you are going to breastfeed. If not, then you don't want to stimulate milk production. Put on a very snug bra or ace wrap your breasts. Do not stimulate nipples. Apply cold compresses for 20 min. at a time. It should stop in a few days. (engorgement). Milk production will decrease but may take a few weeks.
If you are going to breastfeed, the only thing I would add is using shower before you feed and cold compresses after. These can be made from ice or cold cabbage leaves work to open nipple openings and ducts to allow milk to flow more freely.
Hope this helps.

My dr swears by cold cabbage leaves. By a green cabbage and keep it really cold, the shape of the leaf fits perfectly around the breast!! It really works and super cheap!! It's like ice packs for the breast.
Where a sports bra. It will help a lot
