My husband just went into the attic to change the air filter and noticed what looked like rat droppings. Does anyone know who can help us take care of this quickly without spending an arm and a leg? We live in the Lewisville/Highland Village/Flower Mound area. I appreciate the help!

What can I do next?

Put some D-CON up there and they will go away.

We live on a wooded lot and we Have D-CON in the attic and in the attic over the garage ro prevent any squirrels, rodents, etc from living/staying in the attic.

Works great. They just eat it, get very thirsty, attempt to go find water and never come back.

The main issue with D-CON is to make sure no children or pets have ANY access to it.

I buy a poison that comes in bright green blocks--don't rmember the name. Inexpensive and works every time. Been using for years. Put in attic, on high shelves in garage, storage shed and inside the hot tub cabinet. the also work outside,
Good luck,

You can do it yourself by buying rat poison and tossing it around in your attic. Generally the rats will go outside looking for water before they die. Once you think they are gone, you may want to have someone come out and fix the holes where they chewed their way into your home and check all your fascia boards to see if they are in good condition. They will need to cover the holes with wire mesh. This method has the possible drawback of having one die in the attic or in the walls and that would create a terrible odor for a while. A product called X-O from Lowe's will help to neutralize the smell. There is a store at 15th and Custer in Plano called the Do It Yourself Pest Control is very helpful.
