Okay guys I really need some help. About a 1 1/2 months ago my daughter was affected by the stomach bug and as usual so was I. It only lasted for 1 day but it was a horrible experience, the worst I had up until then. Yesterday I awoke with a stomach ache that quickly turned into that horrible feeling. I was constantly in the restroom from both exits. I hate having to deal with this and was wondering outside of the usual waiting it out, clear fluids, pepto bismol, etc. What helps? My husband just came home from work and is complaing of the same symptoms. I did disinfect but what else can I do? Pleeeaaasssee help us.....

I had the stomach flu earlier this year. I threw up for about 3 days, & then I was just nauseated...couldn't really eat anything. That went on for about a week, & I went to the doctor before I went crazy. She prescribed some meds for my stomach, & they worked so well that the nausea went away.

Hello, I know the feeling. I had the same thing about 4 months ago. My husband came home from work with a remedy that his coworker gave him and it worked almost instantly. You get a coke very cold and then you put in 2 packets of the lemon and salt that they sell at any gas station. The ones that everyone uses whenever they go out drinking. I thought it was a very dumb remedy but after a couple of hours I was able to keep water down in my stomach and felt 100 times better. Hope it works for you, I have told many friends and it has worked for them too. Hope you feel better soon.

M.,
Call your doctor and ask if you can take Phenergan
(promethazine HCI) Tablets and Suppositories. I don't know, it may be best to vomit etc....

But probiotics is something you should be taking too... once you can keep anything down. Sprouts has "Primal Defense" by Garden of Life... about $17 a bottle. It should keep you from getting it.

FYI, I had this same bug a month ago and in our family of 5 I was the only one to get it. I stayed away and kept to one bathroom and Lysol-ed everything once I could stand up again.

Good luck. Spray the keyboard too.

Hello M.,

I'm sorry to hear you guys are fighting that stomach bug again. get probiotics and some oregano. make a 'strong' oregano 'tea' (boil about 1 to 2 tsp of oregano in 2 cups of water and add 1 tsp salt. once it cools of a little. drinking a couple of tablespoons of that 'oregano' tea will help with the nausea and the frequent trips to the bathroom. (Oregano has antispasmodic properties so it settles all those muscles in your GI track) use with caution if pregnant. if you make soup...add extra oregano.
stay on probiotics for the next several weeks. stay away from milk products for a week or more (if possible)

ginger tea also soothes the stomach.

Good luck! ~C.~

Hi M.,

My daughter just went to the doctor yesterday and she has the same flu like symtoms as you. She has had a loose diaper since last Wed(poor thing), along with other symtoms. The doctor said it was going around again and that it could last up to two weeks. Sorry! Hope you get to feeling better.
