Please consult her pediatrician... It could be Fifth's Disease, Roseola, poison oak or poison ivy.... or any number of things.

I have a 2 year old daughter that came home yesterday from the babysitters with a HORRIBLE rash. I am not sure what it is. It is looks like a combination of poison ivy and mosquito bites. It is in patches ALL over her body. When i say patches i mean about half of her entire thigh is one area, then it is on her arms, neck, feet, and hands. She itches like crazy. I have been giving her Aveeno baths, Hydrocortizone creame, and Benadryl to help her. This morning when she woke up it looked as if it was gone. But about an hour ago she came to me asking me to itch it for her and it was worse then lastnight. Do any of you know what this could be and what else i can do to make it go away. I feel horrible for her. I called the babysitter lastnight and she said that they were not hardly outside yesterday and that no one else has this on them. She said that they do not even have poison ivy/oak around their house. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Please consult her pediatrician... It could be Fifth's Disease, Roseola, poison oak or poison ivy.... or any number of things.

I would take her to the doctor it could be a rash from having strep throat or even whats called fifths desease.
I would take her into the doctor asap. Her face could start to swell and even her throat which could be very dangerous. I had the exact thing happen to me I thought I had some sort of rash, bed bugs, hives you name it I thought I had it. After about a week of this the rash moved to my lips and eyes. I pretty much stopped eating everything except rice and chicken and it went away. I finally figured out it was grapes after eating some once the rash was gone and it came back a very mild case. I had never been allergic to grapes, but I guess after having my second child my body decided I was now.
Is it possible that it is a food allergy?
Here is an online thing that might be able to help:

Hello C.,
I sell aloe health products and I have a cream called Aloe Propolis Creme. This cream is anti-viral and anti-bacterial, so it will help your daughter. Also since it's aloe-based, it's very gentle, natural & good for the skin.
Please feel free to call me @ ###-###-#### or email: ____@____.com.
Thank you,
D. P., LMT, CPT
See the doctor for this bad itching rash. The scratching can end up with infection. You mention a pet...poison ivy can be brought in by the pet, then the oils of the ivy plant is transferred to anyone who is petting or playing with the pet. If not ivy poisoning, then check out new foods or cleaning products (soaps) about the house. Formaldahydes (sic) found in newly purchased clothing or new carpeting can cause rashes...always wash brand new clothes before wearing....this chemical is a dye preservative (also used for embalming). Large items like carpeting....open windows for a few days to let the chemical abate.
Has she had chicken pox? or has she had the vaccine? If she has had chicken pox but not the vaccine she might have shingles. You can only get them if you've had chicken pox. My sister had them growing up and I just had a friend that had them about 2 weeks ago. I would call the doctor for a rash, sometimes doing things to them even though you mean well can cause more harm than good just because you aren't sure of the cause of the rash.
C.,
Did she eat anything new yesterday? I would be looking into a food allergic reaction. Ask the sitter details about what she ate. It sounds like hives. My daughter is allergic to nuts and I don't want to scare you, but this could be an allergic reaction. Is she complaining about her tongue, lips, ot throut being itchy? I would take her in to the doc just to be safe, and keep giving the benadryl. I hope that's not what it is, but you need to know so you can avoid whatever caused it. Good luck, and keep us updated :)
Best wishes,
C.
We live in Denton. My youngest, two years, had this same rash a few days ago. I had just switched to the new concentrated detergent. I think I used too much of it on the clothes. When I dressed her in clothes I had washed, she broke out. Put her in clothes not washed in it, it went away. Tried clothes washed in new stuff again, and she broke out. Took them off and it went away. I used less of it and it did not come back.
This rash looked like huge hives, raised and hot to touch. Then noticed what looked like bug bites that in minutes became hives. Her lips never swelled like a food allergy reaction, only broke out where the clothing touched skin.
Never considered chicken pox. the hives didn't seem like chicken pox.
Please let me know if you learn anything different. Haven't seen the rash since cutting amount of detergent in half of recommend amount. Just fyi, my child has sensitive skin but this is the first time a break out looked like hives.
Well, I'm not big on doctors, (hilarious for a nursing student!) but I'd take her in. A rash can be various different things, some of which you will not be able to rememdy. If it hangs around much longer, I'd take her in!!! (have you changed laundry detergents, started using anything new, anything like that??)
Good Luck!

Possible food allergy. Be sure to give her the benadryll and maybe even some tylenol for pain. My daughter did this once. Looked TERRIBLE. The patches would swell, go down, move around.....crazy. It was over in a couple of days. Good luck.
It sounds like your daughter is having an allergic reaction to something. Have you switched laundry soap, bath soap, shampoo, or anything else? Has your babysitter switched something she is using? Benadryl will work good to treat the allergy but it would be better to find out exactly what is causing it.
My daughter got a bad case of hives after eating a cookie at 14 months. It turned out she was allergic to food, molds, etc.
Take your daughter to the doctor, make sure it is not impetigo (an infection) and get her tested. Otherwise, you are doing the right thing. Keep the baths on the cool side because hot water seems to exacerbate the welts.
Hi, C.
If Emily wakes up with the same rash tomorrow (Sunday) I would take her to one of the minor emergency clinics like CareNow or Pediatric After Hours (call me and I will give you their phone #). I would not wait until Monday, if possible. It does sound like it's an allergic reaction, but you need to rule out any other causes, just to make sure. I know chicken pox has already been going around this year, but your daughter would have been showing signs of it (fever, etc.) before she started breaking out yesterday.
If it is a patch of mosquito bites or some other allergic reaction, I work with a company that makes SAFER products that will help with the itching, and actually the products will keep the bugs from biting your daughter, even if she isn't at home. We've used them for 2 years now, and have hardly gotten any bites, even this past summer when the mosquitoes were soooo bad (and we have a pond out our back door, so you know we had lots of them!). My son also has eczema, and it has totally cleared up with the lotion we use.
My phone # is ###-###-####, and I will be up late tonight, so feel free to call me if you want to.
Hope you all get some sleep tonight!

It could be an allergic reaction to something at the babysitters house, that could cause it to break out. It could also be eczema. Just call your doctor and let him see.
With my little boy whose skin is super sensitive he gets rashes when he has a viral infection (strep etc). I would take her in, there could be a number of things causing it.
