Does anyone have any advice to get my 15 month old to take whole milk? I have tried flavoring it with either chocolate or strawberry flavoring. The doctor even suggested pediasure, she will not take anything. I do give her other forms of dairy products but it still worries me because she is not getting the calcium directly from milk.
She just wants water and juice thats it!

What can I do next?

My situation was a little different in that my daughter has a life-threatening Milk and Soy allergy. So we used Oat milk, which can be found at Whold Foods, Wild Oats and Dierbergs (in Brentwood) whole food section. I tried the Vanilla flavor first then would switch back and forth to the original. The good thing is that it doesn't have the sugar of flavored milk, it has the same amount of Calcium and is fortified with Vitamins A, D and K. The drawback is that it's low in Fat and has 4 grams of protein. We went though a lot of this milk in a weeks' time and my daughter has always been in the 90th or higher, percentile in height and weight. Also, if that doesn't work, rice milk is another option. It is naturally sweeter. I like it and I never drink cows milk because I hate the taste! Rice Dream has an "Enriched" formula that has added vitimins and the Calcium at the same level of cow's milk. It also comes in Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. Best of luck. I'm sure you'll find something she will like!

I would try soy milk or goats milk. The different flavor might be all it takes. Make sure she gets her calcium in other ways. Be sure to be giving her a daily multivitamin. If she likes juice, give her calcium enriched orange juice. Good luck.

Try the yogurt drinks, my son loves the Dora and Diego drinks. AS long as she is getting dairy and getting the proper amount of calcium. I give my son ovaltine chocolate, its got the vitamins.

Of course i'm going to say see what the pediatrician suggests, but i believe as long as she is getting other sources of calcium she should be fine.check the pharmacy also and see if maybe they have something she can take as a suppliment daily that she wont notice.maybe you can just add it to her food.
