Hello moms, so I have a 6 month old who is growing right out of his baby car seat, his little legs hang off the end. My husband and I are looking into getting a 3 in 1 car seat. I know he still has to be rear facing but I want a car seat that will last me through his toddler years. I have been reading about different ones and reading reviews by other moms and they all seem to say the same thing "this car seat is uncomfortable" "this car seat is hard to install" "this car seat is hard to fit in rear facing". Does any of you have any recommendations? I have a small car, Saturn Ion. Thank you for your help :0)

We bought my daughter a Britax Boulevard two years ago and it has been wonderful! The Britax do tend to be a little bulky but are so worth it. They are also pricey, but you won't have to buy another car seat until your child exceeds 65 pounds! We are planning on purchasing another Britax for my daughter so we can pass her Boulevard down to her brother who is 6 months old and outgrowing his infant car seat. One of the best things about the Boulevard is that is adjustable for height without taking it apart thanks to a knob on the side that you use to move the headpiece and straps up and down. The extra price for Britax is soooo worth it because it can be the only seat you buy!

Hope this helps.

i agree w/ angela g. it's kinda hard rear facing, but you get used to it (esp. if you have the latch). forward facing is much easier. i love the seat (same one- Britax Marathon). i own 3 which i bought as soon as they grew out of their infant carriers. my oldest is 4 and he's a big kid and still fits it nicely.
they are a great company, too. one seat got a crack in it. which i was really mad about considering how expensive they are! however, i called and they sent me a new one. no charge. i highly recommend the britax marathon. your child will fit into it for a long time!

I have the Britax Marathon for both of my kids (2 1/2 & 1). My son has been in it since 5 months and my daughter since 8 months. They both seem comfortable, my son has never complained. They are a little on the big side, but I have a small saturn and they both fit, and one is still rear-facing. It is definitly easier to install forward-facing, but it's not to difficult rear-facing either. Good Luck!

You should look at the manual that came with the infant carseat and check its weight and height limits. I know my son outgrew his infant carrier at 4 months due to his height. We moved him into a Britax Boulevard that we saw at Babies R Us. This car seat is good until the child is 65lbs for weight and 49 inches standing height and 16 inches seated shoulder height. It is very easy to install with the LATCH and the Tether. I can do it in about 3 minutes. You should go and try it out at BRU by taking their floor model out to your car and trying it. It is good up to 33lbs rear-facing and in fact my son is now 33 lbs and we just switched him forward-facing right before he turned 3 years old. Rear-facing is much safer and then forward-facing.
