Help Me Hold It Together, Mamas!

This Week Sucks.

Moving on Saturday. Packing. Have to sign lease on new rental place (thank goodness) today. Started school last week. Doing reading/assignments. Have husband in med school - broke his arm 3 weeks ago. Son in school, he's 8. Working full time - thank goodness my boss is understanding. Traffic is unexpectedly heavy in the mornings - I'm going to have to leave earlier than would "make sense" to beat this stuff - it wasn't like this last year.

I'm just overwhelmed. I'm feeling freaked out and weepy. I know it's appropriate, but I don't like it.

The move will be done this weekend so things WILL change, but right now, that's not helping.

Just looking for some virtual reassurance.

Thanks!

Hang tough. It's temporary. Everything is.
And it's ok to feel overwhelmed. It doesn't feel good, but it's ok. You won't always feel that way, and it will highlight the good feelings when you finally do get there. We couldn't appreciate the highs without the lows, right?

Deep breaths. Just keep swimming, as Dory says. :)

P.,
You have a full plate right now and it is hard to hold it all together with a great big smile on your face the whole time.

Yes, it will get better.. think about the long run and end result!

If I were closer I'd come take you to lunch so you could chill a few minutes!

Ok I was feeling slightly overwhelmed until I read your post :)

Wow - good on you is all I can say. That's quite an undertaking.

Moves suck but just something you have to get through. It will all be better once you are in and set it up (just have to get through this week and weekend).

Going in to work earlier will at least help you from sitting in traffic (which is always a horrible way to start the day).

Just make sure to take some time for yourself the next 2-3 weeks wherever you can. Can you go for a quick walk at lunch time? You'll need to de-compress a little bit. Make sure you eat well and get as much rest as you can.

The school stuff will feel more normal after a while and you'll get into a routine with all this. You probably feel totally disorganized right now, but it will come together.

Good luck :)

Just remember that perfection is not the goal, management of the spinning plates is the goal...so keep breathing, make sure you take care of yourself physically too and ask for help when you need it. oh, and don't forget the important lesson Dori taught us all in Finding Nemo....

Just Keep Swimming. :-) S.

Girl, you've got a lot going on! I feel you. We just had our second baby 5 weeks ago, hubs is back at work and I feel like I'm navigating 2 under two with a broken compass. I'm sharing a virtual beer with you right now. Cheers, mama, it'll clear up. :)

Take a breath. You'll get it together. Don't be too hard on yourself, you have a lot going on. This too shall pass. We've all been in similar places.

((hugs)) and good vibes coming your way.

I have a friend who went to work in Dallas the week after he graduated college. He said when he found the apartment he liked he went out and drove to and then back again from where his new job was. It was about 10 minutes.

He figured in rush hour traffic that it would take a while and he was right. If he leaves at 5pm he gets home around 6:30. If he works until 6:15 he gets home at 6:30. So he goes back roads now and gets home around 5:30-5:45. Traffic is horrid in that area.

We were going to the Dallas Temple one time and as we got off I-35 and onto the LBJ we had to come to a complete stop, on top of that high curve that is way up over every other cloverleaf or bit of road. And of course my friend that was going with us, he was dropping us off then going to visit my friend from the previous comments, was terrified of heights. It was all we could do to keep him in the vehicle and not getting out to walk down the road to solid land.

Thinking of you, sweetie. It wouldn't make sense for me to say that I feel more sorry for you than for your husband, but I'm sure this affects you so much.

Hang in there!

your doing fine! keep your head up and look foreward to after the move. my hectic week was last week. grandma passed on sunday, monday was my shopping day, i had garden food piling up needing canning, then ds school started letting out early due to heat, so i was having to leave mid day to go get him, then the wake, funeral, and we have started clearing her stuff outta the house. this week should be easier. but it happens, life gets nutty for a week but you get thru it and relax when its over! have a wine before bed and schedule a spa treatment for when things settle down!
