So in a nutshell.....
Myself and the other bridesmaids, as well as one of their Moms, is throwing the bride a bridal shower on May 23 at 2pm. The one mother hostess is only apart of it because she wanted it to be sort of her gift to the bride, so she wanted to have it at her house. We all had decided it was at 2pm but TODAY the daughter (who is a bridesmaid) called saying that it couldn't be at 2 bc it's the same weekend as the Byron Nelson. WHO CARES!!! Everyone already discussed the time, date, and location weeks ago and we allllll agreed. The invites are out, of course, so she wants us to call everyone and reschedule the time to earlier. That just wont work because people have busy lives, kids etc...
Soooo.....we need a new location so we don't have to deal with anymore issue like this, and we need one QUICK! Does anyone have any good ideas? None of us live in an apt so we don't have a clubhouse and we could do it at one of our houses if we must, but a different location is ideal. Any ideas? We don't want it outside since it's Texas in May at 2pm. lol Please helllllp!!!

*We all live in the Dallas area

So What Happened?

Thank you guys so much for your suggestions. We have decided to let the lady still have it at her house and just move the time up. To be honest, I'm still extremely frustrated with it but it's for my best friend and she will love it. :)

That is outrageous behavior. I cannot believe that anyone who agreed to host and who knows the invitations are already sent out would try to change things now, unless there were some health emergency or family crisis.

I agree with the other lady. Church rooms are a good bet. Some of the apartment rooms are very lovely, but parking can be an issue at some apartment/condo facilities.

The Byron Nelson goes on for a a week doesnt it? To me, that would not be a reason to change the time.
Have you tried Westlake House in Mesquite? It is located at:
600 Gross Rd
Mesquite, TX 75149

You can rent it by the hour. It is pretty nice, I have been to a couple of events there.

J.,
Call some apartment complexes in a central location and ask if they have a "club room" you can rent for your shower. I used to do this when I had a home based business that sold home decor and my home could not accomodate that many people comfortably. I found little or no opposition in completing my task. They rent from $25-$50 an hour. Another outlet could be local churches that have private rooms or a hotel/motel meeting room would be another suggestion. Good luck, C. in G.P.
