I would have gone to an emergency clinic the moment I saw blood and red testicles. If it is a UTI, he is probably suffering. I have had several and was very uncomfortable and even in pain. I would go immediately to a doctor.
Ok girls. My son is 22 months old. Saturday afternoon, I went to change his diaper and noticed the tip of his "tool" so we call it was bleeding. He hasn't been peeing blood, it's just coming out of the hole. His "boys" are red like a rash as well. I called the dr. and they said it could be his diaper rubbing him raw or the start of a UTI. Has anyone experienced this problem before with a boy and what treated it. Help!
First of all, thank you for all the responses. But for the record, I had a dr.'s appointment set the day I asked this question. I was just looking for some answers before I went. It turns out it's a very bad yeast infection, yes a yeast infection. I believe the diapers are also agitating it a little more. We've got medicine for it now and have been using it regularly. It seems to be clearing up.

I would see your pedi right away.
my son had a uti but didn't have bleeding. however i will say that i am in the middle of a big mess because i called SEVERAL times and my surgeon didn't feel anything i was saying was a problem (um, purple leg? edema? blue foot?). they were agitated when 2 weeks later i INSISTED he look at me and i was immediately hospitalized with blood clots. i won't ever take a phone call with a doctor as gospel again. better to NOT take a chance on your baby's health.
Uh, I'd be going to the dr ASAP.
Go to the doctor right away!! if his testicles are red it could be a sign of a testicular torsion which is a medical emergency!!
What is the hesitation...... GO to the Dr. If your pedi can't or won't see him go to a Care Now or someplace who will.
My son's are not uncircumcised and I used neosporin, and a mixed cranberry juice might help. My husband showed them proper cleaning which took them a couple times to get but now they don't have any problem.
Not sure what to tell you. I have never expericend this. I would start by increasing fluids and seeing if that helps. I guess it could be diaper rubbing or allergy. If the dr did not seem overly concerned, I would watch it for a few days and if it does get better or gets worse, deffinitely take him in.
You definitely need to take him in to see your doctor. He could have a diaper rash that is making him very raw or he could have an infection requiring antibiotics. If he isnt circimcised you definitely need a urinalysis to make sure he doesnt have a urine infection. That is something that you NEVER want to go untreated b/c it can lead to kidney damage. Please take him to see your Pediatrician.
If it's a UTI...the doctor will probably need to see him anyway. I would make an appointment just to be certain of what is causing it. I have 2 boys and never had them experience anything like that. Definitely get it checked out. :)
