I'm freaking out right now! My husband is travelling in a third world country for business and he found a roach in his room. You know where there is one, there is more! How can I be sure that he doesn't have any roach eggs in his luggage? I'm REALLY freaking out and need some advice quick! He'll be home on Monday. (How bad I feel that he has to be there is another whole story!!!)

What can I do next?

I agree with the last post. Leave the luggage in the garage. Take the clothes out one by one and shake them and then throw them right into the washer. Clean off all the stuff in the suitcase like bottles or bags or whatever. Then wash the suitcase and spray it. (I stayed in a friend's apartment when I was younger and she had a roach problem and I freaked out. And I did this when I got home. I think you'll be fine!)

Hi, Denise! I don't blame you. I agree with the last 2 posters. I wouldn't even bring the luggage in the garage. Leave it outside, yes, and shake each piece out. Open all the zippers and turn that piece of luggage upside-down. Not to be an alarmist, but when we stayed at a vacation house in TN, I found a roach in the washer with my stuff and that little stinker was still alive and swimming! So, I wouldn't even want to load up the washer until everything else is shaken out. Also, just to be safe, I would have him take off whatever he happens to be wearing that has pockets and shake those out for good measure, too.

Good luck.

Have him leave his luggage outside and wash the contents immediately in hot water. I would probably get some roach spray and spray the luggage before bringing it inside. Roaches- yuck! Good luck!
