With the weather coming back at us, unless you go to So Cal, I'm not sure you're going to have a nice beach weekend. You could try priceline.com for deals on air & hotel in the So Cal area for nice trip, maybe even Monterey area.
Ok, first of all let me tell you, I live at the beach! :) But not the sunny tropical beach I so desire!!! I REALLY want to take my husband and kids and go somewhere warm and quiet to relax and play at the beach/pool and just "hang out". The problem is that my hubby doesnt want to take a "big" vacation, as neither do I. We are in the final lap of our Crazy busy time of year and we are trying to buy a second house. Not exactly the time for a vacation. HOWEVER, I really want to get away and escape the cold weather and chaos.
SO, my question is this: Does anyone have any ideas for a budget-savy weekend getaway? Somewhere in the Northern Cal/Southern Oregon area? Or is it just the wrong time of year to get some warm weather???

Definitely the wrong time of year for a warm beach experience in Oregon...if there even is such a thing:) I am from Ca and now live in Wa and we go to Or for beach getaways....but they are not warm, nor tropical:)
I would suggest going south....not north! Pick some beach that won't take forever to drive to, and give it a whirl...nothing ventured nothing gained!
How is Crescent City? My mom wants to retire there...I hear you have the best of both worlds there....redwoods and the beach? Lucky You!
If you have the money, I suggest the Hill Country Just out side of Austin Texas. It's hot here yet, but for a low key relaxing time this is a great place. Look into Fredricksburg.
But yes its to cold for a trip to the beach.
