I agree with eating in your condo. Food and lodging are always the biggest expenses. I would also contact the tourism bureau. I'll bet their website can provide lots of great ideas/coupons. Have fun!
We have been blessed with a friendly acquaintance who gave us a great deal on renting their condo for a week at Keystone, CO. There's just us and our 9 year old.
Has anyone stayed there, or in the area, and what are your best money saving tips for winter fun?
I probably won't ski much at all since I have an unstable knee (torn meniscus in my 20's). But tubing, skating, snow mobile, etc. are doable.
Any ideas? Thanks!

If you are going to be at a condo? Prepare your own meals. That will save you at least $300 right there.
Check out websites for ski rentals and lift tickets. Purchase in advance to help save money.
Ask the owners of the condo what they do while they are there, other than skiing. Do they recommend any grocery stores or places to go so it's not just about skiing? Since they own the place? They should be able to give you information on the area.
Sorry- I've never been.

I'll talk with my girlfriend who lives in Denver and goes skiing and see what information she can give me.
If I'm still cooking, it's not a vacation for me!
Sledding/tubing would be my go-to activities - if I'm already flat on my behind I it's hard to fall if I'm already close to the ground.
Warm cider - spiced or not - is a great cold weather drink and a good alternative if you get tired of hot chocolate.
You can always ask the locals when you get there.
Stopping at the grocer so you can cook at your condo is the best way to save money at Keystone. And bring long johns, coats, and hats, so you don't have to buy them there. Make sure to layer up and wear a back pack since you might have to put on and take off layers depending on time of day, cloud cover, wind...
If those who are skiing are beginners, you can see if access to the beginner lift only is available at a reduce rate (or free). Alternately, the "lesson packages" that come with rentals and lift tickets are usually good deals.
Have a great time! It's a beautiful place.
ETA: Check out the website too. Lots of cool stuff to do at the resort for free.

I use living social for deals on eating out and activities. Perhaps you could find some deals to buy in advance of your trip. I would definitely recommend looking at the details of any deal you may be considering to ensure the date of the activity matches the dates on your trip.
You could even get deals on perhaps Groupon for that area as well again read the details of the offers before committing to the offer.
Have a wonderful vacation.
