Can any of you help me with scriptures I am collecting for a fellow mother in our children's bible school class at my church just diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thank you so much.
Truly helpful. Especially for those who shared their favorites scriptures that have sustained you in your personal trials. Its amazing how much more applicable your texts were than internet search. Many heart felt thanks. I pulled from each and every answer.

My husband had some major health problems about 20 years ago when we had just gotten married. It was through that struggle that he and I came fully to the Lord. His favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 12:9:
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's diagnosis. How thoughtful of you to encourage her with Scripture.
These are some of the Scriptures that gave me comfort during a recent illness and evaluation for thyroid cancer (God was merciful and the tests were all negative!YEAH)
"My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. Psalm 62:5
"The nearness of the Lord is my good; I have made the Lord my refuge" Psalm 73:28
"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God." Isaiah 41:10
Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous....for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go.
Hope this helps her through a difficult time. Praying for her this morning. Nurse Midwife Mom
I don't know if this is something you would be interested in. I made a Christian Survival Kit with scriptures for someone that I knew having brain surgery. She cried so hard and loved it. I found a website that has some ideas of what to put in it and what to say. I glued the object to a piece of cardstock, put the saying under it and the scripture on the other side of the cardstock then I put them all in a really nice box for her.
Scroll down a little to where it says Scripture Survival Kit

I'll try and get back here when I wake up. In the meantime, I wanted to tell you that if you call Joel Osteens ministry, they have a booklet with around 200 healing scriptures his mother uses. The doctors sent her home to die in the 70's with cancer with only a few weeks left to live. She started saying these scriptures, all 200 of them, 2 times daily. She's still alive all these years later.
Charles Capps Ministries has a great booklet, God's Creative Power for Healing, and Dodie Osteen's, Healed of Cancer booklet, are both full of encouragement and Scriptural promises. Another is Kenneth Hagin's Bible Faith Study Course. We have fought many health battles using the promises in these booklets. It might be more encouraging to your friend to have the testimonies of Dodie Osteen and Kenneth Hagin to give her factual testimonies of other miraculous healings.
as a mom of a kid w/ a brain tumor I'd recommend saying prayers for her and her family, and meals and child care.
I don't know if her tumor is benign or malignant, or if operable or not. Many variables. She may not be able to drive, usually you lose that for a minimum of 6 mos once you are diagnosed w/ a brain tumor. And depending on where that tumor is, she can lose vision.
Go to www.promiseinmypocket.com ... there's a series of little books of verses collected by theme... Promises in Times of Trouble, Promises for Health and Healing, Promises of Peace and Comfort.... I think there are 6 titles in all... a really nice resource. They are also on amazon as e-books if you have a kindle or nook or whatever...
