My 27 month old was given every variety of food from 4 months up, at about 16 months, he just refused to eat most things. Noodles, goldfish, and an occasional piece of meat were all he would eat. He is a little better now, but still will not eat greean beans, carrots, potatoes(any variation, hamburger. He is very picky. I still offer all of those things, and we can sometimes put a few pots on the fork and then cover it up with corn, but if he tastes it or realizes that it is there, that entire bite comes right back out. About 6 months ago we found out he had anemia. he was on a iron supp. and is now better. "since the iron levels have gone back to normal, he has begunto eat a little better, but not like he should. Any ideas on how or what I can do to get him to eat a bigger variety? Loves his fruit, the veggies are the problem.

What can I do next?

I myself have a very picky eater. My 30 month old only eats a selected few favorites. I have put my son on drinking pediasure instead of milk (consult with doctor) to make sure he gets all of his vitamins. But I would suggest maybe supplementing some of his milk with pediasure. I just would force your child to eat something he doesn't want to eat because then he won't ever eat it. Good luck.

Jerry Seinfeld's wife Jessica just released a book called Deceptively Delicious. It gives recipes for mixing veggies into everyday foods. I'm getting a copy of the book for myself as my son is also picky. Good Luck!

Get used to it. I have 2 toddlers and yes - their diets change daily/weekly/monthly as to what they will and will not eat. As long as they are still growing and hydrated along with some substance they will get the nutrition they need with healty choices provided. Veggies are NEVER eaten by my kids but they get thier protien and what not from eggs/cheese/milk/fruit and anything else that I am lucky enough to get them to ingest that day. I say - Let it Ride!

I'm sure you know from experience with your older kiddos that their tastes are always changing. My boy went 9 months with no bread, now all he wants is toast, waffles, pancakes, etc. He pulled the same thing with cheese for several months. Just keep offering.
