Help Finding Shoes for Toddler

I am having the hardest time finding shoes for Connor! He is 15 months and he wears size 4 shoes. It seems all the Toddler shoes start at size 5 and are too big for him and the baby shoes are too small or not what he needs as a little guy who runs around everywhere! He still has a pair of size 3 sandals he wore for the summer and they fit, but he can't where them on a day like today when it is pouring out! I went to Lighthouse outlet mall and couldn't find anything there either! I bought him a pair at Gymboree and while they look like they are the right size if you hold his foot up to them, I can't get his foot INTO the shoe. I am at my wits end. He needs some shoes! Any suggestion? I was thinking a shoe horn might work on the shoes I bought him yesterday.

What can I do next?

There is a store in Munster called Big and Little shoes. They've been in business so long that my mom bought all my EEE shoes there when I was a child and I'm now 47 and buying my girls shoes there. They specialize in carrying a wide range of sizes. They are on Ridge Road between Calumet and Hohman.

You probably need to go to either Stride Rite in the mall or where I go in Munster, IN to Big n Little where they will measure your childs feet to get the right size. After they measure the feet they will bring out several pairs of shoes and they put them on the child and then you can select the ones you want. My son has very wide feet so for us this is a great place that saves us a lot of time. Good Luck!
Oh by the way, they have the best suckers/lollypops there too!

Try going to Stride Rite. Our son wears an XW (extra wide) shoe for his cute, chubby feet and SR is about the only place we can find them. I, too, tried stuffing my child's poor foot into a Gymboree shoe to no avail.
