Help Choosing Face Cream and Moisturizer

I have decided that it is about time I start taking care of my face. There are a million face creams out there, and I want a good one that is really beneficial. I am 29, and my face is still soft and smooth and I hope to keep it that way. I don't really have problem skin, no dry patches or oily patches. Don't really want the most expensive, but willing to certainly pay more for quality. Any personal opinions/advice would be great! Thank you so much in advance.

I have very sensitive skin, and I've tried everything. The only thing I've found that doesn't break me out is Mary Kay's TimeWise line. It's 3 steps instead of 5, so it's a timesaver, too! It's more expensive than drugstore, less expensive than other direct selling companies or department store lines, and very high quality. I used to be a consultant and keep my account active for my own personal use (I'm not really in it for profit any more), so I could get you some at a discount if you'd like to give the line a try. Just let me know!

You are getting alot of suggestions on products. I won't add another product suggestion, but I will give another type of suggestion. Check www.cosmeticdatabase.com for whichever product you are interested in. It will give you toxicity ratings for products, based on the ingredients. It's unbelievable the amount of dangerous chemicals we apply to our skin thinking that the products containing them are safe and natural!

A., KUDOS to you on wanting to take care of your good skin now, rather than trying to "fix" any future problems down the road!! Most expensive also doesn't equate to the "best" or most beneficial. (If you're interested, I've got some great pictures which compare some of the "best" anti-aging creams and actually show clinical evidence of oxidation.)

I have used for years and highly recommend the ENFUSELLE skin care line by Shaklee. This line is protected by 8 patents, is clinically formulated, pH balanced, non-comedogenic, botanically based, hypoallergenic, dermatologists tested, never tested on animals, and contains no animal-derived ingredients, free of occlusive oils, soap, and dyes.

Shaklee is the #1 natural nutrition company in the US and is recognized as pioneers in the development of nutritional supplementation for almost 50 yrs. Because Shaklee takes a new approach to skin nutrition, ENFUSELLE never includes harsh ingredients that others do to achieve short-term results but that may not lead to a lifetime of beautiful, healthy skin. Shaklee invested more than $1 MILLION in R&D and clinical studies on the products that make up the ENFUSELLE SKIN CARE SYSTEM. Please let me know if you're interested in learning more. You can either reply or contact me at ____@____.com the way, at my 20-yr HS Reunion in FL, two of my male classmates pulled me aside and asked me what my "secret" was for looking soooo much younger than the rest of the class - LOL!! I "shared" that they'd never believe me in a million years ... they waited w/ bated breath ... botox/surgery? Neither - my Shaklee vitamins and ENFUSELLE skin care! Of course they didn't believe me. But, it's true! I'm turning 45 in 2 wks and STILL loving it!! Been using Shaklee 16 yrs.

Hi A.,

I'm strict about my skin. I am a big fan of Origins. For years I have used nitamins cream at night and now I use some line of "youthtopia" eye cream. It is Origins brand but Origins has all different lines and youthtopia is anti-aging. I'm 36 and always get compliments on my skin. I did get lucky with genes but I also always wash my face at night and use lots of lotion and sunblock. I also love origins apricot scrub. During the day I use Neutrogena daily defense.

I've found that Arbonne products are very good! I'm 49, have roseacea and other skin issues. After struggling for YEARS to get a skincare system that doesn't cause redness or break outs (believe me, I've tried them all!) - the Arbonne products have been working for me since Jan 07 - I see and feel the results. My skin is noticably softer and smoother -even my husband noticed (imagine that!)

Most people are amazed when they learn my true age (I look much younger). I chalk that up in small part to genetics, and a larger part to Arbonne!

My daughter, 25 also uses Arbonne, she even noticed a difference in her skin! I overheard her telling friends "my face feels softer than a baby's butt!" (I must say that I was tickled at that comment) We now give Arbonne products as gifts - everyone seems to love it.

Althought it might be a little expensive to get started (if you buy the complete RE9 face system), it all lasts a very long time! I highly recommend Arbonne for face and body!!!

Hey A., I'm an Arbonne consultant. Arbonne has an awesome system that I believe in. I'm now 33(ouch), and never had too many skin care issues myself. The results after using Arbonne's skin care kit was incredible. You really do get results. You said you wanted something beneficial, Arbonne's moto: pure, safe, beneficial. I would love to send you samples, or if your o.k. to meet up, I could let you try out a full size kit. No pressure, but if interested reply or check out my website: www.stephanielowe.myarbonne.com I also listed my business with member perks. Good luck, hope to hear from you!

Avon has been on the cutting edge of technology for years. Anew is a great line of products for anti-aging and problem areas and the Avon Solutions line is great for all skin types. Also, the website has not updated to the next campaign yet, but Mark is coming out with a great skincare system. The products are made with super fruits and foods which contain antioxidants. They are oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and great for your skin. They are made from blueberries, chocolate, bannanas, kiwi, etc. If you are interested in finding out more go to my website www.avonfresh.com and you can contact me if you want more information on the Mark products. Whatever you choose it is good to take care of your skin - you don't get too order a new one!!haha

I used to be a Mary Kay consultant and I love the products! I still use them even though I don't sell anymore. They have a wide variety of moisturizers for every skin type. Go to Marykay.com and find a consultant near you. The prices are a bit higher than you will find at the grocery store, but not so high that they break the bank.

Hi,
You're so smart to start taking care of your skin now. I actually have had problemmatic skin since my teens although now it looks great...in fact people who've seen me after not having seen me in months have wondered if I've had plastic surgery done. I use NuVante, which is not expense and very clean... no toxic chemicals, plus you can get it online through the Youngevity company. They have a great moisturizer (I could mail you a packet for free if you want to try it). They also have a great eye cream that as my daughter said she'd have paid twice as much for at the high end stores where she used to shop. The important thing is to go "clean." Most companies say they have clean ingredients (including some of the ones I've reviewed that have written you already) and they're not actually clean of harmful chemicals, and remember, your skin is the largest organ on your body, and what you put on your skin goes into your body. Let me know if you'd like to try the moisturizer or know more and I'll send some over with a list of the ingredients. Good luck, S.
