There is a Gymboree in Orland Park if you don't mind the short drive west.
I am looking for activities for my 1 yr. old daughter and I to do in or near Homewood, IL after work during the week or on Saturday mornings/afternoons. A playgroup, baby and parent yoga, swimming classes, music (she loves music!!), anything! My husband and I moved here from Chicago and it doesn't seem like there are many activities for parents and kids, or more importantly, working mothers. It would also be nice to meet other mothers/fathers in the area. If I meet even one interested person, I'd be happy to organize outings/activities for us; I'm a born organizer!! I'd also be happy to hear about classes in the area.

Hello,
I felt the same way. I have a 3 and one year old and I hate to stay home. Someone recommended a Moms group. I found a wonderful moms group on meetup.com out of Orland park. BEST thing j ever did. It was $5 to join for the whole year and there is activities to choose from almost everyday (zoo, museums, play dates, moms night out, I.I.d). U should check it out!

Check out www.kidwinks.com for kid-friendly events and activities throughout the Chicago area. The Events Calendar is filled with storytimes, free days at the Chicago area museums, special events, etc. etc., and the Ongoing Activities section is a great place to just click through and get ideas. The online Indoor Play Areas Guide is a great resource for when it's too cold (or hot) to play outside. Here's a direct link to that: http://www.kidwinks.com/FamilyFun/4/KidwinksIndoorPlayAre...
You'll find many many listings for any given day on the Events Calendar and in the online Guides. To find out what's closest to your home, just become a member of kidwinks, which is free, and you can then sort any of these search results by distance from your house.
Good luck!
