Hi Moms,

I have many symptoms of Mercury poisoning and researched ways to remove it from my body. One way is a clay bath called Mercury 2 Detox Clay Bath. I read great things about it and learned that it is very safe. I am wondering if any of you have used this clay bath, and if so, did it work? Also, how many clay baths did you need until you saw improvement, and, how long do you have to stay in each bath? Thank you! Also, FYI - I read that this clay bath is wonderful for children with Autism.

What can I do next?

I agree that you should seek Medical advise. It could be many things but it would be well worth getting it checked out.

Gotta agree with J.L.

If you actually have mercury poisoning, you should get a real medical test for it, not just self-diagnose and then use a clay bath.

Real mercury poisoning will not be removed that easily, unfortunately. So while the clay bath won't harm you, it's not likely to help much for actual mercury poisoning.

What makes you think you have it, anyway?

Please seek immediate medical treatment if you think you have heavy metal poisoning. Don't rely on self-treatment. Moreover, it seems very unlikely that a clay bath can remove anything other than substances on the exposed layer of your skin.

I agree you need a to see a doctor and get a propper diagnosis. What kind of tests are needed for that depends totally on what kind of mercury poisoing you have and what treatment and follow up you need. If indeed you have it you will need some real meds that can propperly treat you to prevend kidney failiure and neurological damage. Bathing in clay will not accomplish that.

Never heard of the clay bath before, but 25 years ago, I crashed with major chemical senstitivities, so terrible I thought I must be dying. With the help of a terrific doctor who specialized in toxicities and nutritional therapies, I gradually gained ground. Having all my old mercury fillings replaced with non-toxic metals seemed to help a great deal over several months. After each trip to the dentist, I had an intravenous chelation treatment to eliminate any mercury that had been released into my system during the drilling.

I hope you are receiving medical advice from professionals you trust. I doubt that the clay bath will be harmful. The skin is the body's largest organ, is highly absorbent and transmissive, and does help eliminate waste. So there is at least a chance that the bath will help. If it seems 'trendy' or is terribly expensive, you might want to do more research on it first.

Self diagnosis about things like this and then self treatment can lead you to worsening of symptoms. You could be "treating" the wrong thing or treating something you do have the wrong way.

Get yourself to a doctor and get a real diagnosis. And by the way, I would never do this for my daughter with Autism. She doesn't have heavy metal poisoning. She's has Autism. She was born with it.
