I am needing some ideas as winter is coming.... My son's room is the coldest room in the house both he and I don't mind it cool but during the winter no matter what we can't get his room to warm up. Last year we put a space heater in his room but I just don't feel comfortable doing that does any one have some little helpful hint he doesn't like to have the covers on and dosen't like to wear anything on his feet while he sleep and even it is cool in there it really dosen't seem to bother him but I just wanting to keep it a little warmer than it was last year.
Thanks for any help!!!

What can I do next?

I agree with the plastic on the windows. We had a window in our bedroom that was broken and that really helped during the winter. (we got new windows this spring though yay!) Also, I don't know how old your son is but maybe he'd wear feetie jammies? It might not bother him as much as socks. I got my daughter fleece feetie jammies because she also won't keep a blanket on. I am hoping with her new big girl bed we're getting today that if I tuck the comforter/sheets into the bottom of the bed she'll keep them on. Good luck!

Space heaters are ok as long as you get one that has the sut off for over heating or when it gets knock over. Flannel jammies are so comfortable! Not wearing socks is fine, I never do and the few times I am sick I don't think it is because I didn't wear socks and my feet got cold. Plastic over the window helps and leaving the door open to allow the heat from the other rooms to circulate helps too. My kids have a room over the garage and their floor is freezing! Sometimes having them sleep in sleep bags keeps the covers on, it also adds more cushion under them to keep the warmth.

Have you checked your heat source to see if there is an underlying cause such as the distance his room is from the furnace? I had a similar problem and it was pointed out to me that the bathroom which is right next to the utility room was getting 60-80% of the pressure from the furnace. All I had to do was find the flew if you want to call it that it's a vent w/in the pipe. Turns out the one to the bath was wide open and the one to my bedroom was 75% closed. Check it out. Otherwise closing vents in other rooms shifts the airflow to the remaining open.

Space heaters have come a long way since the days they started on fire. We have one we use with our girls that shuts off as soon as it reaches a certain temp. We have used it for 3 yrs now and never had a problem. Good Luck!

Hi A.!

Well, we put plastic on our daughter's window in the bedroom during the winter. It really helped with the draft problem we were having. That warmed it up right away just doing that.

Hope that helps a little!

Blessings,
