Hi S.,
I was plagued last year with constant headaches too and thought it was allergies, but instead, it turned out to be my eyes. I needed glasses. Have you had your eyes checked? Just a suggestion!
Help! I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing headaches **nightly** right now. I am almost certain it's a result of the moisture in the air. I've had troubles with mold spores in the past--but thought I'd gotten it under control. (I am also very prone to headaches/migraines as a result of varous triggers, another being foods/additives/preservatives. And again, I can generally avoid the triggers or can figure out what's causing them.) Usually I have these headaches in the April/May season and they're much worse/more often when I go south to say Austin or San Antonio. The strange thing is they're #1 happening now in July #2 consistant now for 6 nights.
I'm trying to figure this out on my own as it generally gets no where with a doctor. Or it will take numerous visits and by that time they're gone. (Which would be fine by me--having them gone!)
They're pretty severe. Migraine medicine hardly affects them, nor does prescription pain meds. I'm up right now with the onset of another one at 12:30am ... taking some medication and getting ice on my head.
Any ideas? Highly specialized people to turn to?

Thank you all for your time in responding. I finally got rid of that awful headache after visiting my chiropractor. She is awesome! I'd gone to one, with the headache, while in Austin and it didn't work. Mine here in Grapevine did! It's a different technique and I'm always amazed.
Again, thank you all! S.

Hi S.,
I feel your pain. I am a single mom of a 14 month old son and have also had migrains and really bad headaches for months at a time. Have you been under stress lately besides the usual single mom. I know mine is stress related plus the weather.
I just got a divorce in April 2006, ex left me when i was 4 1/2 month preg and he was NOT involved in the pregnancy at all. It was a long and hard pregnancy plus tonz of issues emotionally, financially, physically.
Good Luck.
I have frequent migraines. Sometimes, when I can't take it anymore, I see the chiropractor to get an adjustment. This has helped!! You get an adjustment and then electrode/massage therapy afterwards.
I can highly recommend Drs. Bill & Jeremy Rauhauser of Village Chiropractic Center. They are brothers that my family has known for quite awhile. They are located on FM 407 and near Briarhill Blvd. If you don't have insurance they will work with you. They are good Christian men and honest doctors.
Good luck to you!

Hi S....
I, too, went through a very long period where I was having headaches every night - at times for a two week stretch. Most of the time my headaches were allergy/sinus related, and like you, was taking every kind of medicine that I could that wouldn't help. But after alot of research and doctor's trips, I have learned how to usually figure out what type of headache it is and treat it accordingly. Where is your pain? When mine is behind the nose and eyes, it is sinus/allergy (which I'm sure you already know). Those are the hardest for me to get rid of. When mine is in the back of my head and into my neck, I know that it is stress-caused and therefore being caused by my blood pressure being elevated. The only thing that helps at that point is to get my pressure down. Have you had your blood pressure checked, and are you under alot of stress? This past April, I had a headache for two weeks straight, and was traveling on business for a high stress job. When I came home and went to the doctor, my pressure was higher than it has ever been - like, stroke level. I got on blood pressure medicines and within two days my headache was gone. I also had to leave that job.
This may or may not help...but it's something to think about. I pray that whatever is causing your headaches will come to your attention so that you can get them gone. Be blessed!

S.,I can totally relate to your problem!! I too have extreme headaches, and have tried everything. I had scans done, and took various medications, and finally found some relief with an antidepressant called Effexor. I was quite put off when the dr initially suggested it, cuz I felt like he was assuming I was alittle loopy, but he offered a reasonable explanation. He said that it had something to do with the blood vessels in my head expanding and contracting, and that seratonin would help regulate that. It has been years since that conversation, so I cant really remember specifics, but all I can say is that it did work. I was diagnosed in Ohio, so I cant help you with a dr here, but my ob has filled my prescription for me as well ( I am worse after a baby!) and she agreed that it could help. I also highly suggest seeing a chiropractor, as that helps too. Good luck, I know you will need it!
I have been plagued for years with allergies and have experienced what you are talking about. I took claritin and various nose sprsays for for years. This year I got on a nose spray called Flonase and actually started taking it religiosly and it works! If I go one day without using it I get this headache you are talking about. I see Dr. Posnock in bedford off of central, he is an allergy and immunolgy Dr. that has a great reputation in his field.
I can relate. This may sound crazy, but read up on NAET. www.naet.com, allergy elimination Testing. I've just started and am having wonderful results. It sounds very simplistic, but my headaches are gone.
