Ok - I have been putting off seeing the dr. because I feel it's temporary but likely going to call this afternoon. since I'm at work and likely will be a day or two before I get in I thought I'd ask....

Typically I get a headache once in awhile. The past two weeks it's nearly a daily thing - not like a dibilitating headache like I hear migraine sufferers have - more like pressure in the front of my forehead, sometimes in my temples also. It's almost as if I have a slight hangover - haven't had a drink in more than a month so pretty sure that's not it!!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering if it's the humidity - in IL the temp has been hovering around 100 and high humidity.

I've been taking ibuprofen......just wondering - do you get headaches in the summer due to the air pressure? What's your favorite/best way to get over them?

What can I do next?

that sounds like a sinus headache from a sinus infection....

I would go to the doctor to find out if I have a sinus infection (mucus/snot green or yellow? or maybe none at all?)

if something OTC works - like Sudafed Sinus - try it...if not - go to the Dr - chances are you have a sinus infection....

GOOD LUCK!!

A couple questions, have you been under a lot of stress lately? I know I clench my teeth when I am stressed which can cause headaches. Any pain in your neck and shoulders? This too can lead to head aches. My husband is a Chiropractor, so when I have a headache I will have him adjust my neck and most times it will go away. You might consider going to a Chiro and having your neck checked out.

You might try taking a half dose of Sudafed. It could be dry clogged sinus' from a dry environment. I take 1 tsp. of the liquid children's. I don't do well with pills so I try to always buy liquid when I can.

Sudafed makes a huge difference. It makes the sinus' have more moisture so the mucus can drain like normal. If it doesn't work the Sudafed does no harm and then you know it's not your sinus'.

Sounds maybe sinus related. I suffer migraines, and I can get one if the barometric pressure changes, so your weather may have something to do with it. Try Excedrin or aspirin to see if that helps any better. Headaches stink! Hope you feel better real soon.

I had the SAME troubles for about two weeks. I was ready to cut my head off... nothing worked. I attribute it to allergies as it included sinus pressuring and burning eyes and the heat. Hope you are feeling better.

I have that same headache! I was getting up at 5:30 or 6 am to walk because it has been so hot. (I am in Omaha, Nebraska and we have had that same heat wave with 100+ temps for the last 5 days! Ugg!) I stopped walking altogether right now and my head feels much better so I believe it is definitely related to the heat and humidity and possibly barometric pressure too. It could be that you are dehydrated. That can cause headaches at the top of your head like that, so drink lots of ice cold water and put a cold pack on your head. Do you get relief if you massage your forehead, nasal cavity and cheekbones? If so, it could be sinus related and taking something like allegra or zyrtec could provide relief too. Call the doctor's office. The nurse might be able to give you some advice without having to see the doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

You can get withdrawal headaches meaning you take ibuprofen once and then the next day your body wants it. Try taking tylenol tomorrow then nothing the next day. Also I've always suffered from headaches after finding some information about magnesium deficiency I take one tablet every night before bed and now I don't get them anymore.
