Well, I have two beautiful children, a daugher,5, and a son,3, and I know how lucky I am to have them. My DH and I have been TTC for #3 for almost 2 years with no luck. (We only had to try for about 6 months with the first two.) I stopped ovulating about a year ago from what I can tell. I have been on Clomid for 3 months and had my hormone levels checked (normal) and an HSG (normal). My progesterone level has been going down every month even though they are upping my dosage. My question is has anyone experienced this kind of thing and/or do you have any words of encouragement?

What can I do next?

You never said how old you were? Could this be an issue or something hereditary? Your OB/GYN may need to adjust your strength of fertility meds or change it. I had to change mine a couple of times in the beginning. I just needed a boost for my second child and then my body kicked in for the third.

It took me almost 3 years with my third. It was so hard. I was also on clomid and the regular check ups with my ob/gyn. I now have 5 kids with a couple of suprises. No twins. With my 5th It happened as soon as I lost some weight. Good luck and hang in there.

I read in a Newsweek a few months ago (maybe in nov or dec) an article about infertility and a new study about it and nutrition. It said that women trying to get pregnant actually had less problems when they ate whole milk products while trying to get pregnant. There were a few other things in there but I can't remember the specifics. It was a good article and I wish I knew which one, but you could try and look it up, it had a picture of a very pregnant nearly naked woman on the cover. Good luck.

If you are interested in nutrition advice to help your body along, I am in contact with a great nutritionist who guest teaches at Stanford, has her own practice that deals specifically with women's health and infertility. Contact me and I can get you her name. She does consults over the phone as well.
