Have you tried the Smooth Away Hair Remover? If so, does it really work? Thanks!

I tried this. I found that I really had to scrub to get the hair off. It did make my legs nice and smooth, but it took a lot longer than just using a shaver. I would recommend it for small areas where you would need to remove hair and don't have a razor.

I tried this and it did NOT work at all! I tried it on my face, and all I got were red marks and a burning sensation on my upper lip. I wouldn't recommend it.

I just bought it this weekend, and tried it on my legs. Worked great, no pain or ingrown hairs for me as of yet. I am a bit hesitant to use it anywhere else, but if you do, I would do a test spot first just in case and follow the directions in the box to try to minimize any booboos :)

It works great on my upper lip. On my legs it only works if the hair is really short. So I have to do it every day, but as far as I'm concerned it's better than shaving.

I too got suckered by this product in the aisle at Walgreens. Here is how my experiences went:

1. It takes a very long time. For example: more than an hour for two legs.

2. It doesn't work very well on thicker hairs. Example: lower calf and bikini area

3. The pads only last for a short time. Example: By the time I was done with one leg, I had to change the pad!

The truth with hair-removal, however, is that it is just like anything else: what works for one doesn't work for EVERY one. You have to search through methods to find what works for you. I have used the Veet Hair Removal System and liked it and it worked well for me. But other people hated it. So, I guess I'm suggesting the trial-and-error methodology. Good luck in the quest for hairlessness!

I tried it. AWFUL!!!! It worked at first, so I thought, great! But it made me get the worst and most painful ingrown hairs. I would not advise using it. :(

Iv'e tried it. It works best on fine hair, that is a bit longer (like on your arm or upper leg). If you get it, don't order it online, since they sell your number to everyone out there. They have it at Walgreens now.

I've tried a much cheaper version that Menard's had on sale with a rebate and it worked for me. I tried it on my legs but the hair was short (but beyond stubble). My sister bought the brand name version and showed us how it worked while she used it on her arms. It does work, but I don't know how it will grow back on parts of the body other than the legs. As for my experience, I would use if I was somewhere where I was not able to shave, otherwise I would use a razor. You have to move in a circular motion 3 times clock wise and then 3 times counter clockwise. Shaving is much quicker.

Hi. I tried it and couldn't believe how smooth it made my legs feel, however after a a little while i started to get a rash and tiny little crack all over. I don't know if i was rubbing too long but if i hadn't the the hair wouldn't of come off. Then i found that the stuble came back just like a razor. Probably as soon as the next day. Also you don't get many uses out of a pad so if you have to use it often i bet it gets expensive. Hope this has been some help to you.

I just tried it this weekend and was not very pleased...You have to keep rubbing your legs around and around and it seems as if it takes forever and still not all the hair is gone. I am very impatient though. That was my experience.

Yes, I bought it for my teenage daughter, and she loves it!

It makes your skin very smooth, exfoliating it in the process. Hair also tends to grow back at a much slower pace.

Strongly recommend.

I just tried it yesterday on my upper lip and it worked great. It did feel a little tingly for about an hour, but no redness. I haven't tried it on my legs or armpits yet though.

I bought this and it did not work for me unless I rubbed really hard and then I got rub burns. I had to fight to get my money back but I finally did. Sounds like it worked for others though.

Please be careful as I experienced blisters and what looked like burns. Not a pretty sight if you need to put on shorts, also painful for a week or so. If you have absolutely no issues when your skin touches slightly harsh chemicals it might not be a problem for you. It works by dissolving the protein bonds that hold a hair shaft together. It leaves a rounded end to the shaft supposedly making it smoother feeling when it is growing back so you feel less "sharp" cut hair. Good luck.

I have tried it. It's a little like using low grade sand paper on your skin. Threw them out after burning my skin. Still looking for the right product for my upper lip. Though not a mustache, I notice it and am looking for an alternative to waxing.

NO! Unless you have REALLY fine hair and don't mind having it burned/scraped off with your skin, it doesn't work. Otherwise, it just give you rug burns, and you are still hairy. At least thats what happened to me.

Hi S.,

I tried it and I LIKE IT! I had a similar experience to Valerie L. in which I had burning immediately after usage for about an hour but unlike her, I also experienced redness. HOWEVER, I Loved the results, so I continue to use it.

It is NOT quick and easy like the commercial shows. It takes a long time and at first it actually seems like it is not even working. I was nervous to use it on my upper lip so I also did a tester on my legs and was surprised at how smooth they turned out. I think the tester is a good suggestion just in case you have a reaction to it.

I currently use it on my upper lip, but I have learned to NOT try and use it right before I am going out. Due to the redness I get, it is best used a day or night before I want to go it. It is not expensive, so you don't have much to lose. I definitely think it is worth a try!
