Have You Frozen Fried Chicken?

There is an awesome sale on whole chickens right now, and my husband cuts up the chicken, and makes awesome fried chicken. I love the idea of having some fried chicken stashed in the freezer. It's quite a process he goes through to cook the chicken, so there is not always time on weeknights. I like to always have some meals prepared and frozen. What do you think, would it be yucky re-heated? I'm wondering if it would be dried out, or the texture funny. I know I can try, but I was hoping someone on here might have experience!

What can I do next?

Hi B.,

We use to put fried chicken in the freezer all the time. It's not quite as good as freshly made but I love mine cold so simply defrosting it in the fridge is great for me! Low temperature cooking in the oven will do fine to warm through.

Next time you fry some up, put a couple of pieces in the freezer and then try it and see if you like it. It it's on sale, go ahead and buy it and cut it up an dfreeze it uncooked, then you will have it to cook up next time and if you like it frozen after it's cooked, go ahead and fry up a big batch. You made me hungry already this morn!!

Mimi H has it right. I've done the same thing the same way.

You can always cut it up, freeze it and then fry it. Then it will taste like fresh fried chicken.

Good luck to you and yours.
