My daughter (age 20) and I are going to Disney in Oct. The last time I was there was on a family trip 10 years ago. We're staying at the All Stars Sports and have the quick service meal plan with park hopper passes. I'm looking for tips and must sees.

What can I do next?

We went last August and stayed at Caribbean Beach --great place! Did not do park hopper this time because last time we went in July 2007 (all stars music) we wound up only using the park hopper once ...we were also travelling with a 6 year old at the time, so......Anyways, definitely look into fast passes - definitely worth while..
I'm still a big fan of Pirates of the caribean and it's a small world....and Epcot is a must! Mexico quickservice was like best food!!!!...actually epcot's world showcase is foodies' dream....I personally was not big on Animal Kingdom - that maybe a good day park hop.
Have a wonderful time!!!!!!

Learn about the Fast Passes and use them! When I heard about them, I thought they were a hassle to set up, trying to figure out which rides I wanted to go on each day, etc. But once it's set up, it's so great. For example, do you want to wait 2 hr to ride on Space Mountain or 10 min? And once you've used the fast passes that you set up in advance, you can go to a kiosk at the park and get additional fast passes.

Also, get the app for your smart phone. It gives you live wait times for rides. If you are in the park saying, hmm, what next? You can pull out the app and see what has the shortest wait times and go right to those rides.

I've heard of people going and only getting in 5 or 6 rides in a day because they spent so much time waiting in lines. We rode a TON of rides by maximizing fast passes and the app. My kids like the roller coasters, and in 2 days in Magic Kingdom, we rode every single ride in the park once, and we rode the Mine Train twice, Space Mountain 3 times, and Big Thunder Mountain 3 times! And that is with spending a few hours at the pool at the hotel to cool down every afternoon!

According to my family, Test Track at Epcot was in the top 3 of the rides, along with the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. They loved it. However, I get motion sickness very easily, so I did not ride Test Track and don't have 1st hand knowledge (I too loved the Mine Train). I personally loved Soarin at Epcot, which you definitely need to use a fast pass to get on, or you may wait for hours.

Have fun!

ETA: Also, when you are planning what to do on which day, look for special hours. Some parks will open early on certain days ONLY for people staying at one of the Disney resort hotels. If you don't mind getting up early and being there when the park opens, you can go to the park during the extra hour in the morning and ride on almost anything with a short line. There were some rides we literally just walked on to during that hour.

(Note: we went the 1st week of Nov 2015, and since we only had 3 days, we only went to Magic Kingdom (2 days) and Epcot (1 day))

I booked a last minute trip last spring break, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was still able to pre-book fast passes on-line for all the major attractions except the mine train and frozen ever after. The app is so great because you can change things around during your trip if you need to, there's still quite a bit available even last minute. DD and I rode Frozen and Test Track on an evening magic hours night right after Illuminations (the Epcot night show) with a reasonable wait time. If you have your heart set on a certain table service restaurant, rather than try the disney web site a billion times, use the touring plans web site system, and they will text you when a reservation opens up so you can snag it. I got 2 this way. The magic bands are so simple and fun. Love the first magic band scan at MCO to get on the Magical Express to your Disney hotel! I'm sold on the transportation system and will never rent a car on a Disney trip again.

We went in May for my daughter's senior trip. We had a lot of fun. We used to be pass holders when we worked in Florida on a regular basis.

I don't know how long your trip is. If you can, we love to go to the parks 2-days and then have a down day where we check out downtown Disney or a water park.

The water parks are fabulous and are great to do in October. Are you going to do the Halloween party? It's a lot of fun. One thing we did was check out the stables where they keep the Disney horses that pull Cinderella's pumpkin. It was so cool.

If you'd like to pm me, I can share all kinds of info we love.

Have a magical time! 😊

My daughter (22) and I went fir Christmas 2016.

Certainly utilize the app and fast passes.

We went every couple of years from when she was 2-16. It's hard to believe but we still did things we'd never don't before on this trip. We loved it.

We had the private dessert buffet in front of the castle and saw fireworks from there. Beautiful!!! I forgot the name of the place... it was desserts only on the terrace and you have to prepay, about $120 total.

We loved the Soaring adventure Epcot. Parade is a must, it's always magical!

Pm me if you want any details. I can pull up what we did.

Enjoy!!!!

Last time my husband and I went was for my 30th birthday.
That was about 26 years ago.
I enjoyed it and they've added quite a bit since then.
But their prices have gone up so much and it gets so crowded that I have a hard time thinking about spending all that money to stand in line all day.
If I suddenly win a major lottery I'll consider going again but they are out of my price range for right now.
Enjoy your trip and pace yourself!
Many consider getting up for an early start - do what you can before it gets too crowded and then have something to eat and go back to your room for a swim in the pool and a nap.
After you're refreshed, head out again for the evening.

Go to Disney Springs, it used to be called downtown Disney. Lots of shops, resturants, and outside entertainment. Parking is free.
