You may have adhesions where the wound healed, but it is a very old wound, so I would probaby be sure to ask your doctor on your next checkup! Good luck!

It's time to see your doctor! Don't wait, it may get worse. I have a 9 year old and had a c-section with him. I don't ever have any pain like that in my area!
Good luck and God bless!

C.,
I have had 3 c-sections so I literally feel your pain. I had the same pains after my first. It REALLY hurt every time I sneezed or coughed. It turns out that it is my scar tissue from the incision. I had so much by my third child it took the doctor 1/2 hour to cut through it all before getting to the baby. Also, she said that my bladder had been completely attached to my uterus by the scar tissue, which explains why i had to go to the bathroom so frequently even when i wasn't pregnant!! Anyway, i learned from my acupuncturist that if I roll on a tennis ball along the scar it helps to break it up. Try it. Roll all over the area and then stop in small increments and take a deep breath and breath out to really get into the scar tissue. It will help but unfortunately you need to keep up with it. I do it less often than I should but when the pain starts bothering me I do it for several days and feel much better but i could probably rid myself of the pain if i was just doing it on a regular basis. Good luck, I hope that helps you.

Sounds like adhesions. But probably best to go to Doc to have it checked out.

I just wanted to suggest getting a referral to see a physical therapist specialized in women's health. I highly suggest this group in Columbia, MD. They are very good with post C-section problems and pain. I saw 3 pain specialists before I found this group and they were the ones that actually helped me the most.

Oh, a big plus. They even have childcare!!! You just have to call ahead of time.

Pain so bad it "takes your breath away" is cause for an immediate trip to the doctor -- please don't wait for responses here or let the doctor's office put you off. Go ASAP. This may be old scar tissue from the C-section as others have said but it also is in an area with a LOT of organs packed together, so it could be many other causes too that are not at all related to the C-section. Explore them all and don't let a doctor just say "Oh, it's probably scar tissue" without testing you, and if it continues, see your gynecologist too. Unexplained pain in that region could be nothing or very serious and only a doctor who listens to you can help. Good luck.
