it might not take and those chemicals are not great for you to be breathing in!!! I would try to hold out till after the baby!!
I am due in 7 weeks with my second son, I really want to get a perm in my hair. I really like the tight curls because my hair is thin and I have been trying really hard to grow it out. Finally I have it just past my shoulders. Is it safe to get a perm while pregnant? I dye my hair all the time and I know that's ok after your first trimester. Wondering if any other moms got a perm while pregnant.
Oh a side note if I get my hair done my husband wants to get a tai massage. so yea. hahaha Thanks for any advice. :)
Hahahahaha I am sooo glad I asked then. My hair is already "Poker Straight" as one of you guys said hahaha. I can wait til after he's born. I am used to my straight hair. Thanks everyone. :)

Oh my- I would SO wait to have a perm done. Partially because of the chemicals but also because it will probably not come out right. Nothing worse than a perm gone wrong- I have the pictures from the early 80's to prove it!
Hairdresser here =) ! Haha, I would not recommend it because it might not come out right. The curls may not take how they normally would because of your hormones. I would recommend you wait until after you have him, just in case.
can't it wait 2 months?? it will be a nice treat for you after the baby is born. hormones are funny things - it might turn out completely different than you think....plus....i would be a little paranoid too. just me.
Not right now... it will look fried because of the changes in your hormones. Too many friends have done this with bad results! One of my friend's hair broke off and the other had half take and the other half go straight. So no! :-P
I grew up with a beauty salon in my basement. I remember one time my mom did a perm for a pregnant woman who INSISTED she have it done NOW...well, it didn't take. 1/2 her hair was fried and the other 1/2 was still poker straight. I'd wait until a few weeks after your little man arrives and your hormones start to go back to normal.
Not a good idea. Remember everything you do will effect your son. Perms have harsh chemicals and fumes. I would even avoid being in the room if someone else is having one done. Same with acryllic nails.
I think it may not "take" -as they say!
I'd get a shape-up cut now and make the appt for after the arrival.
