I was thinking of getting my parents a digital photo frame for Christmas so I can load pictures of my girls in it. I was wondering if anyone has used these & if they work well. There was one at Target on sale for $59. I think it was Pandigital. I have no idea how these work though. I wanted to see if I would be able to load pics from my computer through usb & then they can add pics the same way from their computer. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance!

I actually bought my parents one last year for Xmas. Mom had been wanting one--so I bought this one from Walmart for around $50.00. Well, low and behold even though they do have a digital camera there's is pretty old and the slot for the memory card is too small. So, she insisted on me keeping it---so I am the one that has a digital frame. And I love it. I have never been able to find one that suited there camera except really, really expensive ones. Maybe because it is an older camera. Just be careful and if you are able to know what kind of camera card there's is will help you make a decision. Good Luck!

Hi. I just bought one for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I got mine at Walmart for $88. I believe it was a 7". It was very easy to figure out. I have all my pictures saved on my computer so I just hooked up the usb (that comes with it) and the manual walks you right through how to do it. I loaded 50 pictures on it. It took me about 30 minutes from the time I opened the box to finish. Its REALLY nice. I want one now myself!!!!

I have given several as gifts. Have worked wonderful. I have the ones that you can put in a SD card. Very easy to add/delete pics. You can put whatever size SD card you want to use in it. Card can go from camera to frame to comp. I think that your parents would LOVE it.

They are great. They don't come with any memory so you won't be able to load pictures directly on it. All you need is a memory card or memory stick. Load the photos onto it and plug it into the frame. They are not that expensive. I got one at Big Lots for $7. I think if you have the memory stick all loaded and ready for them they will love it.

They are wonderful. I bought one for my husband that travels so that he can keep all family photos with him since there are so many. He loves it. Plus I can change or add too at anytime he is at home.
But the memory stick is separate in the one that I got for him. So check & be sure that yours comes with one or the price of the stick. I was able the get the size I wanted ( 1 gig) & hold about 350 pictures & still have room for more.
They are a GREAT GIFT
One other tip... Remember you get what you pay for.... So use caution before going to cheap on the price

A., we as siblings got one for our parents last Christmas and it was a huge hit. My mom is computer illiterate just like I am and just a few steps my dad was able to teach her how to use it and now she takes pictures from our blogs and everything when she wants them on her frame. Its really nice when company comes over because its huge bragging frame. Worth the money!!

A.: I actually got one of these for Christmas last year. Yes, you just download your pictures from your computer onto a USB port and then insert the USB into the frame. You can put as many pictures on the USB port as it will hold. You can set up the frame to fade in/out all the pictures, random, etc...however, I will warn you that we had a power outage a few months after Christmas and I've never been able to get the digital frame to work again~! Not sure what happened, but it will not display the pictures any longer, just the date/day/time. So, I haven't used it since then. But, it was nice while it lasted!

Good luck!

I got one for my daughter last year when she had to spend a couple of months in the hospital away from her baby. They are great! The one I got works with an SD card, so you upload the pictures to the card and just pop it into the slot. Then you can make new cards as new pictures are available, and they can just switch out the cards as the mood takes them! How many pictures you get depends on how much memory the card has. You can either plug the frame into your computer via USB cable to upload pictures, or, in my case, my laptop actually came with an SD slot so I could just pop the card in there to upload pictures. Good luck ~ wonderful idea!!!

We got one of these for my father in law last Christmas, and we loaded it up with pictures of the grandkids and of his wife who had just passed away. He loves it, and leaves it on all the time. He says that he looks through all the pictures twice before he goes to bed. Every time we visit him, we load new pictures on to the frame. I think it was one of the best gifts we've ever given someone. I believe the one we got was a Kodak, but I'm not sure-I got this one at Wal Mart and it was about $70.

I have twins too! Mine are 2 and a half, and they and our 9 year old son are the greatest joys in our lives.

A. I am wanting to see other responses. These frames seem incredibly expensive when one can run a slide show on their computer. At any rate, I usually go onto a website like Staples or any one of the others and read the reviews. There are lots of sites out there reviewing these things. It doesn't always make the choice easier but it might help you decide WHY one is cheap! I went through this process before to try to decide whether to buy a specific brand but by the time I finished with all the reviews the frame was no longer on sale. LOL.

Good luck. M

My husband gave me one for Christmas last year. I copied the files off my sd card from my camera, directly to the photo frame. I love it, and my youngest loves watching the slide show.

It was easy to use, and I can update the photos. It also acts as an extra storage device for my digital pics should my computer crash.
