Have you tried out the Crunchless Abs DVDs? How did you like them and did they help you firm your ab and give you better support? I need to do some type of ab exercises for my back.
Thanks.

What can I do next?

Pilates is great for just that. Here's a wonderful video that I swear by:

http://www.amazon.com/Hilary-Burnetts-Pilates-Basics-Burn...

Before I got pregnant, I was in the most excellent shape in my life (at age 40!) and it was in great part due to walking regularly and doing this video. I know that it helped my back pain, etc. before and during and after pregnancy.

I've resumed doing the video (my baby is 14 months) and even with doing it only a few times a week, I can see almost immediate improvements to my core muscles. What I like about this video is that Burnett is a really good teacher, very encouraging, and the exercise is gentle and graceful, and the whole thing takes only about 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Chances are, you need more than ab exercises. My suggestion, if you tend to have back discomfort and/or back issues, is that you buy PAIN FREE by Pete Egoscue. This will take you thru exercises to engage the proper muscles to help stabilze your hips. Some of this DOES involve some ab exercises, but mostly more stabilization.

If you're a leg crosser......STOP IT! One of the WORST things you can do if you have back discomfort. It throws your hips into immediate rotation and one is then higher than the other. If you sit that way all the time, your bones go where muscles tell them to, so don't think that just because you stand up, you're level again. NOT!

Same thing goes for carrying babies on one side, standing on one hip, etc. TRUST ME! My job is to re-educate muscles (& people). I see it ALL THE TIME!

Don't know where you live but if you want someone to show you some WITHOUT buying a DVD so that you KNOW you're doing it right and doing what is right for you......I live in Fishers.

We bought it. We've only used it once, but it seemed to be a pretty good workout. Although, neither one of us is opposed to crunches, so it didn't seem all that terrific to us. But like I said, we've only used it once so far. I can tell you that my husband was on the phone a long time (close to 30 minutes!) saying "no" to all of the extra stuff that they want to automoatically send you - and then charge you.

I hope this helps your decision!
