Has Anyone Taken Celexa During Pregnancy Especially in the First Trimester?

I took celexa during my entire 2nd pregnancy. I was also concerned about the possible health risks to the baby, but also knew I had to do something. All went perfect and today I have a happy, healthy, bright 5 year old!

I took a low dose of zoloft for 3 weeks first trimester, my ob was attempting
to get my anxiety down and get me to eat. My 9 month old is ahead of schedule on milestones...
One of my in-laws took it during her entire pregnancy, baby was ok until she was breatfeeding and added lithium. So, in short--reach says ssri's (Prozac, zoloft, celexa) are safe until third trimester. Just don't add meds if you breastfeed! Her child is 14 months, not crawling
and quite vacant. This only began once she added
lithium and lied to her psychiatrist about breastfeeding. So sad!
I wouldn't worry, just listen to your OB.

My dr. told me that the anxiety meds are fine (I wasn't on the same one you are on), the research shows a link to smaller birth weight babies. Better to feel good in your skin and have a smaller baby than the other possible outcomes!

I'am currently taking Zoloft have no experience with Celexa but my sis is on it for anxiety and she is planning on getting prego with a girl in the next 6 months and her dr. told her that she is on a low dose 20 mg that it is ok to continue taking it during pregnancy.But always check with your dr on medications I don't think Paxil is a good choice to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding babies are being born with birth defects my son and I are lucky he came to be healthy I was on it during my entire pregnancy but that was 6 yrs ago.

Yes, I was on celexa during both of my pregnancies. The first pregnancy, I weaned myself off by the third trimester, but the second pregnancy, I weaned myself down to 10mg/day, and my son is just fine. I hope this helps! Good luck to you!!
