My 7 year old wants to see it, but I noticed the PG rating. Just wondering whether or not the material is appropriate for his age.

I took my 7 year old to see it last night and felt it was appropriate for him. There was no violence, sex and only one extremely short sexual innuendo (my son didn't pick up on it, but I suppose other kids might). There was some crude, poop-type humor, but that's really it and it wasn't a prevalent theme. There were no drug/alcohol references at all. They did use the word "hell" on occasion.
I saw the movie last night with my husband and it was a great family film! There was no sex or violence or even any innuendos...I can't imagine what made it PG. It was hilarious with a great message. Your 7 year old will love it--the animals are great.
