Has Anyone Had Daily Spotting After Having a baby....for Several Weeks?

My baby is already 12 weeks old. I've been using the mini-pill since my 6 week appointment. My little girl doesn't eat as much as her 5 older brothers did, so I'm not nursing as hard core as I did with the boys but I am still nursing Full Time. My problem is that I am spotting almost every day (a little in the morning and a little right before bed) and it's been going on for at least 4-6 weeks. Some days more than others but generally almost every single day. I wish my body would just have a period and get it over with. I'm just trying to decide if I need to stop the mini-pill for this problem to stop or if I need to go see a doctor. My husband just had a vasectomy, but we have to use birth control for sex until he's able to verify that everything is out of his system and the procedure was a success. Has anyone had this happen before? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

What can I do next?

I bled pretty steadily (with a few off days here and there) for a good 2-3 months after the birth of our second child, even after resuming the pill. I finally got fed up enough to see my OB/GYN and he put me on medication that stopped it (can't recall what it was). Definitely contact your doctor, because you don't have to put up with it. There are solutions.

I think you should go see a doctor. Everyone's body is different; what might be 'no big deal' for some people could be an indication of a health issue developing for others.

yes. see your dr just to be sure everythings ok. but that mini pill if not taken at the same time daily can cause spotting, periods and pregnancy. (i missed one day and got pregnant)

Yes, with one I had straight up bleeding for 8 weeks, and daily spotting for another 8 weeks or so (was on mini-pill starting at 6 weeks) for a total of 4 months. With the second, the first 8 weeks was the same, and then I had daily spotting for another 4 months for a total of 6 months - on mirena postpartum the 2nd time. Dr said it was normal both times and not to give up - my body would adjust eventually and switching birth control would just prolong the adjustment period even more. Both times everything resolved on it's own, it just took longer than I expected it to.

Although the spotting was a hassle, the good news is that both were effective birth control for me, and neither affected my milk supply.

So, yes, it is very possible that your mini-pill is prolonging your adjustment, but that doesn't mean you need a new pill. It probably just means that it takes your body a little longer to adapt. You can give your doctor a phone call to get his/her opinion.

I wouldn't just stop the pill since you really, really don't want to get pregnant again. I wouldn't do anything without calling the doctor. You can call in without being seen (which I get is a pain with a newborn, but then again, so is the spotting). I know you're impatient for a regular period, but I know I didn't have one until long after the 12 weeks you're at. Your bleeding could be related to the pill, to the birth, or to something else. Start with a phone call (even if they have to call you back), and then see about an appointment if it's recommended.

Please talk to your doctor about this.
There might be something going on that needs to be taken care of.
Bleeding all the time - even just a little bit - can lead to anemia.
See what your doctor says and hopefully it'll stop soon.

My Ob-gyn doc gave me medicine to stop the bleeding at around 8 weeks.
