Hi mamas, well my daughter has wax (both hard and soft) that comes outta here ears EVERYDAY. Everyday there is always a chunk in either or both ears, right about to fall out. I NEVER dig in her ear to get it out, I always wait for it to come out on its own. Now today, i dont know if it was wax or what it was, but it was huge!!! And it wasnt yellow or orange like it normally is. It was a greyish kinda color, wasn't too sticky or hard. What the heck was that??? It was one of the most grosses things ive seen lol!!! She seemed fine though when I took it out (this one couldnt fit out on its own so i stuck my fingernail in it and pulled it out, sorry if tmi). And it didn't seem to be bothering her either. She has been fussin a little bit more, so maybe it was that? Anyone else have this wierd substance come out of their kids ears?? I mean, I wouldnt write a request if it was normal size wax, but I mean this was unbelievably huge to come out of a 7 month old girls ear!!

What can I do next?

Wow....interesting predicament! If it were my Daughter I would take her to the pediatrician and have them give her ears a check. My Daughter had tiny ear canals so the wax built up something terrible and then would emerge from the canal causing her to have ear infections etc. The doctor flushed out her ears with this syringe type thing with a long skinny tube at the end and warm water every time we went to the office (she didn’t not appreciate it LOL!). It helped A LOT! I wouldn’t chance it though....since it seems strange to you, take her to the Doctor...shoot it seems strange to me too! I would Google “excessive ear wax” or something similar and see if maybe it is a side effect of some underlying problem……. Better safe then sorry don't ya think?

Peace~Love!Light

Take her to a chiropractor, I had a lot of ear wax and after I was adjusted a few times it stopped. I would ask the Dr first, but Chiros do make a difference and work on babies.

Hello,
I have never heard of that much ear wax being normal for an infant. Please, take her to see a pediatrician and find out what is going on. They may be able to provide a simple solution ie ear drops to control the situation. Is she fussy, has she had ear infections in the past?
Good luck,
T.

I haven't had huge waxy things fall out, but I have a shower head on a wand and I aim the water into her ears during her bath... I let her move her head around, and it keeps the wax down.
You might ask your ped. when you go in next. Make sure nothing is going wrong, medically.
good luck

When the wax comes to the surface like that it's usually a good sign that her inner ears are functioning properly. As for the odd piece of wax...is it possible she might have rubbed some food into her ears at some point? When my son was little we would find food in his ears, up his nose, on his eyelids and in the little wrinkles on his neck even before he fed himself. If she remains fussy, I would watch her temperature because that will be your first sign of anything.
