Has Anyone Done an Online Degree Program Through a Local College or University?

I started out at University of Phoenix online and I did that for 6 months but now I go to Grand Canyon University online and it is even more flexible. They have a ton of different degrees from business to nursing. I'm in the business program. I love it - I don't think it's any harder than a ground class (and I've been in those). I am a single mom of 3 and I work full time so there's no way I could take a real class. I love the school, I love the instructors, and I'm currently a sophmore. I'll have my bachelor's degree in about a year and a half (never thought it would happen). I just log on about 4 times a week after my kids go to bed. There are some papers you have to write and you have regular assignments and textbooks. The admissions counselor is AWESOME! They guide you through the whole thing and I got financial aid so I don't pay anything out of pocket. Here is my admissions counselor's information. If you just call - she can get you started:

I completed my MBA through University of Phoenix Online. I did the full online course because I couldnt go to class at night being a single mom of two. At times the courses were difficult but the instructors are really great about taking multiple phone calls to help with homework issues. It also took me exactly 3 years to complete my MBA because even though only one class is taken ata time, taking one right after another lead me down the road to burn out so I stretched it a bit by putting 2 or 3 weeks between courses. It was well work the time and money for me. Also you have to be able to motivate yourself to get the work done and complete the particpation requirements. Good luck!

Not sure if they have your program or not, but Rio Salado is actually preety good. Their courses are easy to navigate and they have so many classes that start every 2 weeks, makes it easy to just jump into it. same prices as normal community colleges. I'm currently taking classes there.

I haven't done strict online but I am currently doing a combo type of course. I attend class one night a week and then everything else is available online. All my assignments, reading materials etc are online and then I just turn my assigment in when I go to class.

I am going to Univ of Phx for my MBA. I had considered the online program but a lot of people I talked to said it was pretty hard only for fact that there is no face to face interaction with the instructor or your team members.

My type of attendance is considered ground since I do go to class once a week, but I go in the evening from 6-10 pm. Each course is 6 weeks long and I should be done in 16 months. It is pretty accelerated which I like. I didn't want to be taking courses for 3 yrs to get my degree. So far, I like it. The homework is a little overwhelming but that is because I have been out of school for so long - I just need to get back into the swing of things.
