S.P.
Yeah i think it would be fine. I layed on my belly until it got big where i couldnt lay on it anymore.
I am around 8 weeks pregnant... And I want to know if its harmful to allow my toddler to lay on my belly? Would it cause any damage this early? Any insight would be helpful.

The uterus is an amazing organ that provides an immense amount of cushioning for our little ones. You should be fine, especially this early on. Just try not to have the toddler jumping on your belly.
I slept on my stomach until I physically couldn't anymore, so I think your toddler will be just fine :) With my girls wanting to cuddle and climb all over me, I just tell them to be gentle so they don't hurt ME!
Probably not a problem this early unless he is so rough he hurts you. My toddler climbed all over me until I got too big to fit him on my lap. Sometimes I think he does not know what gentle means! He is better now at age 4 but at 2 he played very rough. My daughter was fine.
no you will be fine the babies are put in water for a reason. :)
Not at all - your womb was created to be a protective place for you baby to grow. He/she is cushioned by all that fluid and tissues - and is quite small still. non jumping on your tummy of course, but laying on it is fine. Of course, your ligaments are more stretchy now - pregnancy hormones cause them to all soften up to stretch around baby - so be careful for your body that you dont' pull or strain a ligament. But what could be nicer than having your first baby cuddling up to you? I have pictures of my almost three year old sleeping across my very pregnant belly - with her head right on top. So precious.
If it doesn't hurt, it's not harmful for you or the baby.
I had all 300+ lbs of me sleeping on my (high risk) belly right up until the end. ((I more than doubled my weight when preggers). Very little can harm a fetus in a womb. A womb is the ultimate "egg & rubber band" chamber (aka drop the contraption off of a roof and the egg doesn't break). I also fell, belly first, onto a garage floor when I was 6 months preggers. And about 250. Add in force of impact and that's a LOT of weight. I got checked out after that one! Owee. Bruised and bleeding from scrapes ME, perfectly fine HIM.
Certain things CAN cause miscarriage. But even being beaten and kicked won't cause miscarriage in a lot of women, even though a severe enough beating can break bones. It's AMAZING what the uterus deflects. Also pregnant women in car accidents... the mom is usually a mess, but the baby, just fine. Utterly amazing. Stress, however, those surges of adrenaline/fear are known even in low doses to trigger premature labor.
at ten weeks pregnant i was beat up and repeatedly kicked in the stomach... it did cause problems for me in the pregnacy but my baby was ok! my toddler(that same baby) always lays on my belly, he has since i was like 10 weeks preggo. he likes to hold my belly and give the baby kisses, as long as it doesnt hurt and your not high risk youll be ok!!
It's more likely to cause you discomfort then anything else -- if you're feeling bloated or sensitive. As other Momma's have said your baby is well protected. Women have taken falls, been in car accidents, etc and still thankfully held a healthy baby at the end of 9 months. Our bodies are made for this.
Keep cuddling your toddler - let them enjoy being the baby and alone time with Mom while they still have it :)
